Never is another one of those songs that suffered from my vocals and as such never saw the light of day. Here we have resurrected it with new vocals and a whole new piano-based arrangement. One final take on the song "Never".  In this version, we approach it as a straight ahead rock song.  We had fun with each of these recordings, coming at the same song from a slightly different angle.  We only did this with this song, because we think it's a fun song to play. Crying For You was first recorded with my tortured vocals maybe 1-2 years ago.  We've just re-recorded the whole thing, shortened it a little, but most importantly gave the song the vocals it deserved. Crying For You is a ballad that floats like a boat on a gentle river.  We hope you like this newest (and almost final - the vault is almost empty) entry.  It's been fun revisiting these songs and seeing whether they stood up to closer scrutiny (many did not and will stay in the vault where they belong). Crying For You (Re Recorded)

Years ago I watched a movie called Threads that portrayed the consequences of nuclear war in the 1980s.  It is a powerful, disturbing movie that led me to write the song presented here. The lyrics seem to be as sadly relevant today as they once were. I'd say this is the only overtly political song that I've written with the remainder dealing with typical topics of lament. Threads 2025 (Remix)

Long Ago and Far Away started life as an acoustic ballad that emerged from my attempts to learn how to play Wild Horses correctly in open G tuning. It's a slow-paced, melancholy ballad that reminisces on the past. We recently decided to revisit the original recording (which is available here) and see if we could improve on earlier efforts. Makes No Difference has been sitting around waiting to be finished for a few months.  I just got around to writing some typically cryptic lyrics that don't say much of any thing but feel insightful :). A slightly abbreviated version of Makes No Difference that's been edited a touch for clarity. Makes No Difference is a biting pop/rock song that features a catchy hook over a swing groove. The title, Just a Little Taste of Your Love, pretty much says it all.  A straight ahead rock song with all the basic Stonesy elements.  The vocals kick it into high gear! In a Minute was a moody instrumental track for a while with a title and not much else lyrically. Over the last couple of weeks I started to come up with a series of lines that seemed to fit the music and got the team together and cut this new version which is a lot more fun and upbeat than my original demo (which I might post for shits and giggles!). In a Minute (Remix)

Our Time In the Sun started life as a collaboration between Jackie Irving and myself and I will always be indebted to her for her efforts.  However, I never really liked the arrangement or the timing around the delivery of the vocals, so we've crafted new lyrics and a new melody line and re-recorded the instrumental track.
