Originally composed by Victor Young in 1949, with lyrics by Ned Washington, My Foolish Heart remains one of the most cherished ballads in the jazz repertoire — a song that speaks of the fragility and vulnerability of human emotion. On SPACETIME, this classic is reimagined with a delicate balance of intimacy and lyricism.
At the center of the track is the luminous voice of Nefeli Fasouli, whose interpretation reveals both the tenderness and quiet strength hidden within the song’s timeless melody. In dialogue with her voice, Franco Ambrosetti’s flugelhorn offers a warm, soulful counterpoint. A living legend of European jazz, Ambrosetti brings decades of experience and a uniquely lyrical tone, his lines unfolding like a second voice in conversation with Fasouli. The interplay between singer and horn is intimate and unforced, creating a musical dialogue that feels as natural as breathing. Supported by the subtle textures of the ensemble — Fender Rhodes piano, bass, drums, and delicate percussion — this rendition honors the ballad’s history while making it unmistakably part of the SPACETIME universe.
The result is more than a cover: it is a timeless interpretation, imbued with warmth, grace, and depth, and a testament to the project’s vision of bringing diverse voices together in a shared moment of music.

SPACETIME by The Sound of Paros (to be released on November 2025) is a cross-border jazz journey inspired by the island of Paros. Blending jazz, Mediterranean colors, electronic textures, and poetry, six European artists create immersive soundscapes, featuring as special guests: the jazz legend Franco Ambrosetti, Nefeli Fasouli, Kimon Xigkis, and Jean-Philippe Carlot. A vibrant celebration of unity in diversity.
