Geschmeidiger Sound mit sämiger Stimme: Robinson präsentiert erste EP

Gesang, Gitarre, Bass, Schlagzeug: Was für einen Singer-Songwriter Überschwang ist, bedeutet für eine Band Minimalismus und genau dazwischen liegt Robinson. Ein Sänger, der eigentlich eine Band ist – oder umgekehrt?

Der Frontmann der Band spricht von großen Vorbildern, wenn er seine Musik beschreiben will, die auf der ersten, gerade druckfrischen „Extended Play“ der Truppe zu lauschen ist. Eric Clapton, Matt Corby, auch John Mayer. – Folk, Indie, Pop, Blues, Rock und ein Quäntchen Jazz à la Jamie Cullum dringen da ebenmäßig verrührt ins Innenohr. Klangtechnisch dabei besonders herauszuheben sind Bobs Vocal-Loopings. Man kennt das aus dem Studio. Doch Patrick beherrscht das gerade auch live – und natürlich auf der präsentierten EP. Begleitet wird der gebürtige Vorarlberger und in Wien lebende Sänger von seinen beiden Bandkollegen Konstantin Kräutler (Drums) und David Ambrosch (Bass). Ein warmherziges Klangerlebnis mit wohlportionierten emotionalen und stilistischen Highlights.

Through his individualistic, emotional and infectious sound, Robinson elevates the audience onto a new level of musical pleasure. The usage of techniques such as “Vocal-Looping“ and „Bottleneck Slide Guitare” as well as the accompaniment of a professional band, open up new doors within the Singer/Songwriter genre. At their own risk, listeners enter a place full of genuine passion, creative combinations and imaginative sounds. 
The singer, who is a true-born Vorarlberger making his living in Vienna, is accompagnied by his band collegues Konstantin Kräutler (Drums) and David Ambrosch (Bass). The trio leads the audiences onto new musical ground, a combination of Singer/Songwriter, Folk and Blues/Rockgenre.

Founded in late 2008, Mother’s Cake drew attention of the Viennese label GAB Music and got signed. Their debut “Creation’s Finest” (release-date: 26-10-2012) got featured by Ikey Owens († 2014, member of The Mars Volta & Jack White). Creation’s Finest created a big stir in Austrian music press and ensured Mother’s Cake a firm stand in the business.

The first single “Soul Prison” (17-08-2012) reached over 200,000 views on Youtube.

In 2013, they got awarded with the “Austrian Newcomer Award″ and played many sold-out shows including support gigs for Iggy and the Stooges, Omar Rodriguez Lopez Group, Deftones and Tito & Tarantula.

The “Endless Space Tour 2014″ led them to Australia in February 2014. They band was welcomed cordially in Down Under and successfully played 12 shows in 2 weeks. On April 4, Mother’s Cake released their album in Germany, played a tour there and announced their new video project.

“Off The Beaten Track” presents itself as a 45-minutes long movie that features a whole live-set of Mother’s Cake. It was funded successfully through a crowd-funding project and was officially released on July 17, 2014.

In fall 2014, Mother’s Cake supported Anathema on their Distant Satellites tour leading through 20 countries playing 42 shows in 56 days.

At the moment, the group is busy producing their second studio-album.

I am Thomas aka (ok, not very known yet) "Tommy Countach" from Berlin. 
I used to play keys and synths in bands such as Captain Hollywood Project,
Grossraum Indie Fresse, etc, but Corona hit us artists hard, so i started out
to be my own band in my apartment during lockdown. 
My obsession with synthesizers got really bad during that time and started
to suffer from severe gear acquistion syndrome. Now supported by a drum
machine, three loopers, a huge array of effects, samplers and a zillion 
keyboards, i started to jam and write songs that range between 
synthwave, 80s pop and italo disco. Some neighbours were dancing, some
hate me now, but luckily we have shows again and i can cope with my 
lunacy by playing live.
Now I shrunk my setup down, packed it in still way too heavy, super 
massive cases and here we go again. I play some of my sketches and 
improvise, everything live, always groovy and danceable. Besides i am 
working on my first singles and ep, so stay tuned.

‘Fin’ represents the moment when you discover yourself within stories. Launched in 2013 by Singer Songwriter Juliane Blinzer, the band's music is characterized by partly tender, yet equally energetic melodies communicated through intimate lyrics. The musical project is a continuous experiment, drawing from various influences, whilst capturing and expressing emotions over and over again. These feelings are then conveyed to their audience, drawing them in and allowing them to merge with Fin’s music.

In Spring 2016, via the release of their successfully crowdfunded debut EP, “tales never told”, the band solidified their skill of playing their way into the hearts and souls of their steadily, yet surely growing number of listeners, or, as they fondly name them, ‘Fin-base’.
