On Monday, 9 March 2020 I played at The Retro Party at Esoteric Festival, which was held at The Lagoon onsite, and was some of the most fun I've had spinning tracks. Coming away from the festival I decided I needed to record some sets that included some of the great party classics.

What came to fruition was "220 In 2020"
- A 10 part series
- With 220 tracks
- Each set containing 22 tunes
- With mixes being released every 22 days
- Commencing Monday, 25 May 2020

A part of the concept was the double 2s gimmick, and the date for the first mix dropping was the start of 22nd week of the year, so it all kind of tied in together nicely and in a bizarre kind of way.

As a DJ, it's great to be able share music with people that isn't relatively well known by the masses. Hearing new music and underground music is great, but we all love to hear those big tunes we all know and love at a celebration such as a birthday or a wedding. Having worked as a DJ for near 20 years and playing at many of those type of functions, The 220 In 2020 Series is the culmination of many years experience having to play popular, well known tracks to cater for the attendees of such events.

Here we go then! Got some absolute cheese on toast for you this episode.

The mix starts off with some urban party classics and then heads into a different direction with traces of reggae, funk, disco and rock.

There’s a section about halfway in this set that goes into rock territory that really takes me back to the family home as a kid.

I’m actually looking forward to giving it to my mum for a listen and I’ve never played her a set of mine… might have to edit the mix and take out the Hip Hop first haha.

Short, dark and just a little bit sexy.. This is a mix I did for the Shameless Joy Sound Collective based in Perth, Western Australia.

Starting off with some deep and garagey feels, moving into minimal techno and ending on some of my favourite techno tracks towards the end. The mix has some stellar remixes of all time classic tracks throughout..

The livestream was for a 'Mad Hatters Techno & Tea Party'.. The birthday girl is a friend of mine, so despite straight techno not being my usual genre, I did the mix just for her..
