Boy Oh Boy @ Morning People 2018

It’s been a while since I’ve shared a recording from one of my sets and this seemed like the perfect opportunity for me to kick my ass back into line. From the loving people to the friendly giving ethos, the wholesome community vibe and the unforgettable moments - last weekend out at Burning Seed was a rather incredible experience.

This recording is from my set at the Pelican Villa theme camp on Sunday night from 1am after the Equinox Events boys and before the brother Pat Tassone - a huge thanks to the crew for having me on board, it was by far one of my highlights of the whole week.

Featuring some of favourite deep/progressive tracks of the moment including previous and forthcoming releases on Recovery Collective and tracks from artists such as; Stan Kolev, Martin Waslewski, Jordan Hoko, Soba T, Lunar Plane, Folie A Deux, Niko Schwind, Aves Volare, Luke Avalon, Jamie Stevens, Reinier Zonneveld, Solomun, Andreas Henneberg, Stefano Richetta, Khainz, Steve Bleas and MIDAS 104.

Yumaanda (meaning 'to give' in Taungurung language) is Tongberang'i Ngarrga Inc's premiere family friendly multi-day outdoor dance gathering.

Watching a diverse set of people come together to form a community, embody the ethos of 'to give', and embrace the sharing of Aboriginal stories and culture, was an incredible experience.

It was a joy to perform this set on the Sunday afternoon and share in that basic human activity which we were born to do - dance.

Recording sets with 220 of my favourite party tunes spread over a 10 part series, 22 tracks per mix, with sets dropping every 22 days.

Having worked as a DJ for near 20 years, these sets are the culmination of many years experience playing at events that require more popular and well known music to be played.

Here we go then! Got some absolute cheese on toast for you this episode.

The mix starts off with some urban party classics and then heads into a different direction with traces of reggae, funk, disco and rock.

There’s a section about halfway in this set that goes into rock territory that really takes me back to the family home as a kid.

I’m actually looking forward to giving it to my mum for a listen and I’ve never played her a set of mine… might have to edit the mix and take out the Hip Hop first haha.
