Taking cues from disco pioneers such as MFSB and DFA, Sweden’s Drop Out Orchestra rose to prominence in 2008 with a seemingly endless arsenal of bootlegs, re-edits, and covers. Now teaming up with Mexican DJ sensation and Super Spicy Records boss Monsieur Van Pratt for their first collaboration, they have crafted a four-track EP of undeniably funky disco-house excursions, highlighting a shared passion for golden age disco, funk, and soul, showcasing their genuine appreciation of these influences.

THRILLS & BEATS RECORDS present their 28th release: Introducing new artist ASTEEN with single “MY LOVE”.
Pierre Lemercier (aka Asteen) is a French producer, multi-instrumentalist and singer. Inspired by legends such as Stevie Wonder, Prince or Michael Jackson, and influenced by electronic artists such as Daft Punk, Justice or AIR, he’s passionate about beautiful harmonies and tight beats ; “It’s all about the groove!”
Invited by YANN DULCHÉ to produce a "summer-lover” Disco song for his new series of collaborations, Pierre composed and performed all instrumental & vocal parts (with lyrics written by American songwriter Sharon Gitau). His original version was mixed by Adrien Pinet, while Yann used the recordings to produce a club-oriented, old-school house remix. Together, they chose ANORAAK to produce a 3rd version.

My Love (Anoraak Remix)

ROBOTIKUS is the pseudonym of producer/musician Scott Targett.

The music is influenced by the Disco, Funk, and House pioneers of the 1970’s & 80’s. It’s a fresh blend of synth-pop, fused with contagious vocal hooks, classic drum tones, and groovy guitar.

Targett has been professionally playing most his life. In 2007, his Melbourne-band, Dukes of Windsor, signed to Island/Universal records. They kept a persistent touring/recording schedule, the ‘Dukes’ made their way to the top of the Australian ARIA charts, remaining in the top 50 for 20 consecutive weeks and became the ARIA #1 club song of 2007.

Now based in Hobart, Tasmania, Scott’s focus has turned to ROBOTIKUS, of which he is responsible for a majority of the production, and also performs weekly on the local scene.
