David J. Foley is a composer currently living and working on Treaty 1 territory.

Rob Phillips is a profesional drummer and composer living on the west coast of Canada.  

Poor Traits is an Alternative music group from Vancouver B.C. formed in 2014. Current band members include- Alex Badger (Vocals) and Kyle Thomas (Bass).

Poor Traits are currently utilizing their quarantine by writing a new E.P. due to drop late 2020.

Inspired by the likes of Paramore, Daughter, Snow Patrol, Have Mercy, Lonely The Brave, American Football, Third Eye Blind, Poor Traits demonstrates the depth of their sound and pour their hearts out into their music.

Since originally coming together, Poor Traits has put out a collection of music with varying styles- Minor Setbacks 2014, A Bigger Picture 2015 Stay Up (single) 2020). PT have seasoned the stage and played many live shows- over 50 in their first year as a performing band, with two western Canada tours in 2015.

All of Poor Traits music to date is self written recorded, mixed and produced.

Review by Anna Alger- Rock out to the cathartic jams of Poor Traits, a band with many rich qualities. Reminiscent of defunct Anacortes, Washington band, The Lonely Forest, but with a female lead singer, the Vancouver band is capturing that unique west coast sound – darkness that is broken through with moments of the most brilliant light.

Review by Unheard Gems- Vocalist Alex Badger’s tone is sweet but edgy in a way that grabs your attention immediately. All together, they create an irresistible, dancy beat.

The Victoria Composers Collective is a Victoria based community of young and emerging composers and musicians, who write and present new pieces and concerts out of the love of contemporary music.

Alex Jang (1988–) studied composition & music theory with Christopher Butterfield, John Celona, Wolf Edwards, Aaron Cassidy, and Bryn Harrison in Victoria and Huddersfield, conducting with Ajtony Csaba, classical guitar and chamber music with Dr. Alexander Dunn.

He has had lessons, master classes, and conversations about music with Linda Catlin Smith, Peter Ablinger, Gianluca Ulivelli, Antoine Beuger, and Martin Arnold.

His works have been performed internationally by ensembles and soloists in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Vancouver, Edmonton, Toronto, Montreal, Boston, Trento, London, Munich and Buenos Aires.

He currently plays guitar and mandolin for the Victoria Guitar Society, Victoria Composers Collective, New Guitars, and the Place to Listen Ensemble.
