Jolene Khor is an award winning composer attracting recognition for her whimsical and aesthetics driven compositions, reminiscent of the style popularised by studio Ghibli in Japan. Indeed it is her love of video games, films and anime along with music that inspired her to study composition for screen leading to her receiving a Batchelor's Degree in 2021 from Fu Jen Catholic University, Taiwan, and then fast tracking a Masters in Composition for Screen in 2022 at the world leading Royal College of Music in London.

 

Jolene brings together thorough classical music and jazz training, along with her passion for Japanese and Chinese aesthetics, to create a satisfying blend of east and west, of savant music and popular instruments. This passion served her well during her studies when she collaborated with young filmmakers and animators of the London Film School, Royal College of Arts and Central Saint Martins as well as at the Royal College of Music where she was trained in managing recording sessions. Jolene has also recorded her music at Air Edel and Abbey Road recording studios.

Jolene teaches Composition, Piano, Jazz and Music Theory in London and is actively composing for the video games The Gods Fabled Soil Frontier and Towers as well as a soundtrack for the tabletop games by Emberwind.

Shane Larmand is a roots-rock, Americana tunesmith, featuring shadowy blue songs of prairie anxiety and mountain love. This campfire tapestry of crackling wood, wire and crooning calls is the new Albertan essential listening experience. Couple this with his distinctive, naturalist art personally created in a fine line, micron style and you will see how a Shane Larmand show is a riveting synthesis of line, lyric, passion and presence. This rising Alberta Indie artist won the Runner-Up Prize in the Sunrise Records Local Artist Contest in 2018 which subsequently saw his debut CD – “You Are My Home” – see distribution from Vancouver to Winnipeg.
