For over two decades, vocalist and songwriter Irene Serra has been quietly carving out a singular space within the UK’s contemporary music landscape. Often spoken about with insider reverence, ISQ is her original compositional project — a moniker under which she writes and shapes music that remains something of a word-of-mouth discovery. It is a body of work whose full depth is only truly experienced in intimate music clubs, jazz venues and concert halls, where the emotional intensity, collective virtuosity and Serra’s deeply felt stage presence reveals its true power.

ISQ blends alternative pop sensibility with sophisticated jazz musicianship and atmospheric textures. The current line-up — Richard Sadler (bass), Chris Nickolls (drums/electronics) and Luca Boscagin (guitar) — brings together players whose credits span Neil Cowley Trio, Andy Sheppard, Cinematic Orchestra and beyond, grounding ISQ’s sound in both improvisational depth and contemporary edge.

The Rodeo Terrorists play around with synthesisers, loops, ai and things that make funny squelchy noises, the result of which are tunes that they quite like.

Quick sidebar about AI, yes we often use artificial intelligence these days, we want to be absolutely open and clear about that. We do write the lyrics and melodies and then feed that into the beast, and then curate the output. Quite often the output is pretty crap, but occasionally we get something that sort of isn’t. So why the **** swearing on the ghosts of Elvis and John Lennon, isn’t AI stealing everything? Well we like to put it like this in two questions. Firstly does banning guitars stop people making music? And secondly the first rock and roll band wasn’t a rock and roll band at all until another band came along and mimicked their sound and style. Anyway if you got this far in the bio (congrats and happy to discuss more) but let’s get back to the good stuff…

In the summer of 2006 the Rodeo Terrorists got their first Apple Mac, it was raining, they got drunk on home-brew beer and discovered the simple joys of Garageband.

Their musical influences are best described as eclectic, growing up in the 1970's they scratched numerous LP's (most of which they still have) on the family hi-fi , the sounds of rock, classical, country, disco and avant-garde filled the air, along with Lego bricks, train sets & anything electrical & electronic that could be taken apart with a soldering iron. By the mid 80's they were leading a charmed life of singing in a choir, playing the piano and bassoon, while programming sequencers and their Yamaha DX-7.

Somewhere along the line they got lost in that field in Hampshire, their jeans went baggy and hair grew long . Finding an abandoned BOSS Dr. Rhythm DR-550 drum machine in a charity shop & overnight they became full time techno ravers. Inspired by the gods of techno, Kraftwerk, Giorgio Moroder, The Orb, KLF, 808:State, Orbital, Joy Division, Depeche Mode and many to many to mention, the Rodeo Terrorist knew that they could do that music thing to but probably not a well (obviously). Early incarnations of the Rodeo Terrorists included Drago5 a techno DJ and The Lady Marmalade, an indy outfit who appeared in a Ride video (though not really on camera!).

Music is for entertainment and the Rodeo Terrorists shy away from serious commercial exposure, though if their tunes do get played on the radio, supermarket or lift even, they would grin from ear to ear!

Seadog is the Brighton-based dream-pop project led by musicians Mark Benton and Tom Chadd. Blending lush melodies with anthemic electric and acoustic textures, Seadog crafts songs that drift between lullaby and anthem, weaving influences into a rich tapestry of sonic storytelling. Following their debut album Cabin Fever Blues —produced in part with legendary engineer Phill Brown (Talk Talk, Led Zeppelin, The Rolling Stones) Seadog returned with their second album, Internal Noise. Born in the stillness of the 2020 lockdown and brought to full life at Bella Union Studios in Brighton, the record features production from Jack Wolter of Penelope Isles, who also contributes drums, guitars, and backing vocals. His sister and bandmate Lily Wolter adds further depth with her guest vocals on the album, enhancing the intimate yet expansive feel of the recordings. Seadogs music has been championed by a range of respected voices, earning airplay on Amazing Radio, BBC Introducing The South. Their single Tidal Wave marked a major step forward, selected for Tom Robinsons BBC Introducing Mixtape on 6 Music and spotlighted on Lauren Laverne's BBC 6 Music Recommends show. With Internal Noise, Seadog continues their ascent, creating music that's as emotionally resonant as it is sonically adventurous songs that soar, shimmer, and stay with you.

Originally from the ‘shires’ of the West Country and now based in London, Burr Island (comprised of best friends Tom England and Oskar Porter) are on a mission to spread hope, positivity and love, whether that be through the beauty of their ‘sibling-style’ harmonies, the vivid imagery of their lyrics or their layered, melodic approach to songwriting.

Their Debut Album ‘Days Dreamt’ is a nod to the sounds of the late 60s and early 70s folk and baroque pop scene, infused with melodies reminiscent of Crosby, Stills & Nash, Cat Stevens and The Beach Boys, exploring our connection to the natural world, challenging the ‘dream like’ mundanity of the day-to-day rat race, and questioning why our world leaders often prioritise their own power and status over fairness and equality. The record received praise from BBC Radio 6 Music, BBC Radio 2, Radio X, BBC Introducing, CLASH Magazine, Shindig! and Notion, as well as a public endorsement from Robert Plant.

After hearing the duo’s first record, Plant made a shock appearance at their headline gig above a pub in North London; “We saw his very recognisable silhouette at the back of the audience and couldn’t quite believe what was happening!”

Not long after, the pair were invited to support Robert Plant & Saving Grace on their UK tour in December 2025, where they went on to play to full crowds at internationally acclaimed venues such as London’s Royal Festival Hall.

In fact, 2025 was the busiest year yet for live shows for Burr Island. Spring saw them in Ireland and Northern Ireland supporting Ocean Colour Scene, while the summer took them to Germany where they opened for Amy MacDonald on her European Tour.

Now, with their second project imminent, and with a potential headline tour on the horizon, 2026 is showing no signs of slowing down in momentum for the Burr Island boys.
