I had this idea for a whimsical love song about how a couple grow old and see each others faults and still find them endearing, farts and all. The original guitar melody sings "I love you my baby, I know you love me most of the time, our love ages like fine wine" with this thin concept I asked Janine and Marquis to embark on a vocal duet. Marquis did this amazing and rather sexual rap which I liked but couldn't adapt to my inner vision to the song, I hope to do something with this later :-) He also did the backing vocals you hear on the track. I asked Daniel to do the bass which fitted perfectly with Pete's drums and additional percussion goodies, I've no idea how long he worked on these... a lot, Janine did this completely unexpected vocal, which I think really does fit well with the idea, although it weirded me out at first, (talk of marriage does that to me) and 3D came back with a church organ intro and the melodica plus some reggae bubbles on clav and organ, it was really shaping up to a pretty tune. I left the guitar singing the male melody and asked Jorg to join in, in place of the male part as well - different I hope. Making the sax sound slightly drunk in the mid section was fun.

Anyway huge thanks to all of above who worked on this tune with me and helped me make something I'm proud of, I could not do it without you guys!

Griff Hamlin was a VERY LARGE part in my guitar learning adventure and the above link is a call and answer sort of practice track he was kind enough to put together for anyone so seeing how he lives in California and I'm stuck up here in the Great White North we had a little jam via the net!! Hope to meet him in person one day to thank him for all his help over the past 6 years!! If you want to learn Blues Guitar he's the man to look into!!! Anyway hope you enjoy and don't laugh @ my mistakes....played it as if it were live and this take wasen't to to bad.....still get nervous playing along with him but I tried LOL I KNOW I'm in crap already coming in on the one :(

As I was growing up, I had a love and fascination of all the great prog rock coming out of the UK. Gentle Giant was like no other group at the time, and I spent hours listening to their music, constantly amazed at the songwriting and musicianship, as well as their totally unique approach. I did my best to cover one of their tracks from the very first album I heard from their output, “The Power and the Glory”. I worked my way backwards through their catalog and to this day, consider this group as one of my true inspirations to try to do something a little different.
