Hey Roger, Facebook messed me up and I couldn't get back to the post I got this link from, but just wanted to give a little feedback.  First reaction was that this reminds me of a Canadian band "Lighthouse" from the 70s - a horn band similar to Chicago.  Also picked up some Christopher Cross influences on the vocal riffs ("Ride like the wind").  Overall a good job here.  👍😁

This song "the ballad of the fallen forests" (Die Ballade von den fallenden Wäldern) reflects the dying of the forests in the times of pandemic and war. We like to forget that we are in the middle of climate change. We race with fat SUVs over roads that are only made for cars and not for people. We waste resources instead of protecting them. Putin's war against Ukraine often obscures the fact that we are also in a climate crisis. Covid19 has long forced us into a pandemic. But what is happening to our forests? They are disappearing. In Germany, there are fewer and fewer forests, and if there are, they are plantations for the timber industry. Mismanagement, ignorance and greed for money have decimated our forests, which we as a people once loved so much. But who cares

Roger Pancake is a German music nerd regarding himself a musician. He is best known (to those who know) for his musical contributions to a long history of local Cologne and Magdeburg band projects from midst of the eighties until today. After his last project recording a personal version of Beck‘s Songreader with the Jehnny Dopps, he is now releasing (well, rather small step by small step) his debut Solo album Reveal yourself: late coming of age like stuff, taking himself seriously in the one and only respect of having fun doing this.
