'F For You' (Eats Everything Remix)

Disclosure’s ‘F For You’ ft Mary J Blige is set to get an Eats Everything make-over with a remix dropping on PMR this month. The record, belonging to Disclosure's Grammy nominated album ‘Settle’, has dominated the dance charts of late and Eats serves it a slice of added groove, making for a typically inviting dance floor track. 

Both acts have recently supported one another on recent dates, with Disclosure joining Eats Everything as a special guest at his XOYO residency and in return, Eats made a special appearance at Disclosure’s Alexandra Palace gig last weekend. Having a clear fondness for each other’s work, it was only a matter of time before a remix came to fruition.  Stripped back and built around his trademark punchy house template, Eats gives the original an altogether new dimension that is sure to make waves on both the radio and in the clubs.

Eats Everything kicked off 2014 with a brand new residency series at XOYO, London, with each date comfortably selling out. Alongside pioneering the resurgence of the residency to London’s nightlife, he’s been working his way around Europe too, touring some of the very best venues on the European club circuit.

The Disclosure remix is only the tip of the iceberg when when it comes to what Eats has lined up for the rest of the year. Rounding up the last few weeks of his XOYO residency, Eats will be releasing the ‘Hello Mr. Jello' EP alongside Justin Martin on Dirtybird Records and has a Hot Natured remix forecast, as well as a very exciting mix compilation in the pipeline.

Look, we might as well admit it: The Bearded Man spends more time in Vegas than he probably should. Granted, it’s something we don’t fully understand. We’ve always felt that Vegas is good for a few days, but it gets pretty old after that. Still, there’s something in his feisty nature that draws The Bearded Man back to Sin City time and again. After a pool party some years ago, our gentle warrior went to see Bill Cosby do standup (yeah, Bill Cosby, can you believe it? What year would *that* have been??). Cosby’s set was pretty decent, and one of the takeaway points was a nice piece where he talked about how Vegas's high-class ladies of the evening had the uncanny ability to make each passerby feel so special. He said: “They’ll look at you in a way that you’ll think you’re the only guy in the room. But watch out, because they’re only after your money.” And sure enough, when The Bearded Man left the comedy club, he saw a stunning girl sitting at the bar staring him down. She *did* make him feel  special. She *did* make him feel like he was the only guy in the room. He wondered if Cosby’s prophecy was coming true… Then he saw another girl at the other end of the bar doing the same thing. Then another. Then another… “Surely they can’t ALL be...” he thought to himself. Then he remembered that he’s The Bearded motherf***ing Man, and that this shiz happens all the time. Nothing to see here folks, nothing to see here.

For any DJ and bedroom producer, the ability to “hustle” is often the most underestimated, yet most important factor in determining whether they will fade out or successfully make their mark on the industry. Good hustle is the epitome of both the man and monumental career of international DJ, Roger Sanchez. From humble beginnings in New York City, diggin’ in dusty crates of old vinyl and spinning at house parties in Corona, Queens, to dominating huge dance floors and headlining festival main-stages in every corner of the globe, Roger is truly a self-made man and a house music legend.

The crafting of Roger Sanchez, the DJ, started in the late 80s, where as a young man he was enticed by the explosion of hip-hop that was taking over the city. Embracing the culture as a b-boy and graffiti artist, he would hit parties on the Bronx River and before long, his friends had him trying his hand on the wheels of steel. In a time and place where hip hop, house music, and “turntablism” all collided in a perfect storm of creativity, opportunity, and sick beats, Roger seized his moment and began to build his empire on vinyl and slip mats, starting with a few singles and expanding into a massive collection of over two thousand original productions and remixes.
Releasing music under a multitude of monikers, including the S-Man, Roger S., The Nu- Solution, Underground Solution, DV8, Ego Trip, El Mariachi, The Funkjunkeez, Tribal Infusion, Twilight, and Transatlantic Soul, just to name a few, Roger has been able to maintain the essence of his sound, his flavor, his “sabor”, if you will, while still using each alter ego as a tool to expand on various fresh and experimental sounds. Each one of his multiple music personas have allowed him the opportunity to defy the mainstream and travel out to the far reaches of the musical galaxy, collecting depth, wisdom, and perspective along the way and applying them to his future endeavors in innovative dance music sounds, allowing him to remain fluid and cutting edge across decades.

So many successful endeavors would have never been possible without a rock solid work ethic, something that Roger prides himself on. From the very beginning, he was a dedicated crate digger, searching for obscure samples and break beats in influential NYC record stores like Rock & Soul and Vinylmania. His infallible work ethic, paired with the strong foundation of art and culture that he gained from the Pratt Institute’s School of Architecture took control of the wheel as his passion for music expanded, driving him to start hustling mixtapes on the sidewalks of Broadway in order to finance his earliest gigs. With the encouragement of his father, an engineer, Roger abandoned his plans for a career in architecture and decided to devote all his efforts to his music.
