“In Greek mythology, Thanatos was the daemon personification of death.
In classical Freudian psychoanalytic theory, Thanatos represents the death drive (German: Todestrieb); the drive towards death, self-destruction and the return to the inorganic: “the hypothesis of a death instinct, the task of which is to lead organic life back into the inanimate state”. The death drive opposes Eros, the tendency toward survival, propagation, sex, and other creative, life-producing drives.”

Blocaus Series is a French techno label created in 2016, as the next stage in our evolution after four successful years of hosting parties at various venues in Paris. By, among other things, showcasing label nights and giving a number of international artists their Paris debut performance, Blocaus has achieved a reputation as a highly acclaimed event with an incredible vision and focus to support the techno scene in France. 

Blocaus Series as a record label is a logical extension of the ideology of the party series and through this can clearly reflect the main aim of pushing the highest quality of techno. Our label is not intended to show a certain vision of techno, but similarly to our parties, is bringing a holistic view of all different trends and influences. Blocaus series constitutes a platform for talented producers to express their own style and operating within the broad spectrum of techno.

After the first transitions were played in 2008 and the first steps in music production were taken in 2009, Wice developed an unprecedented love for sound, polyrhythm and frequency. More and more it turned out – retrospectively – that this sonic relationship was the perfect means for Wice to subjectively channel his innermost, to introspectively surrender to sound and texture, and to work towards the eventual moment at which he could say: ‘Cool, now I finally have the technical means to externalize all that doesn’t want to be said, merely through frequencies.’ Driven by the insight that there always will be more steps to climb, Wice had to acknowledge that this kind of music will accompany him for a lifetime. In 2017 he finally decided to start his own label ‘Steinlach’ with his good friend Ingo and Wice’s first solo record ‘Hedonism’ was released. Although achieving international success with this release had not been the intended goal, things fortunately turned out differently: Throughout 2017, the track ‘Just Kiddin” was played almost every weekend in well-known clubs and at reputable festivals around the world. With it, Wice even won a golden ‘Raving Spoon’ in the category ‘The Perfect Tracks’. Further releases on Shlomi Aber’s ‘Be As One’, Darko Essers/Tripeo’s ‘Wolfskuil’, Deepa’ and Biri’s ‘Black Crow’ as well as on the in-house label Steinlach followed. The affiliated digital-only sublabel ‘Weisse Elster’ was launched in 2021 with the EP ‘Ape Layers’. WEL002 (‘Seragard’) followed in March 2022. CAT No.003 & 004 are already scheduled for this years late summer respectively winter.

Art Bei Ton is an artistic project focusing on merging electronic music and visual arts, though the promotion of events, podcast series and a label.  

Organizing events in Berlin and Europe since 2018, our goal is to create some immersive experiences, offering Hypnotic Techno/Ambient DJ sets and live acts, together with VJing, art exhibition, interactive audio-visual installations, performances, panels and workshops.  

Curating international artists, we want to embrace more inclusivity in the scene through the promotion of diverse and gender-balanced line ups. It is important for us to highlight female artists, queer actors of our community and fight together against all kinds of discrimination.
