New York party Merge is often described as a queer techno extravaganza. Over the past two years, it's built a loyal community from the ground up while integrating everything from high-energy trance to disorienting acid into its rave repertoire. Resident Clarisa Kimskii has played a defining role in the collective's growth, largely thanks to the ultra-kinetic and rhythmic pace of her DJ sets.

Time and time again, the Washington DC native has demonstrated her ability to lock in dancers through captivating and hypnotic selections across various sub-styles of techno. There are tribal, witchy cuts. Jacking, Detroit-style funk. Psychedelic, DJ Nobu-style grooves and austere sounds that nod to Sandwell District. It's the kind of range that explains why Kimskii has been booked worldwide many years over, and more and more as of late. Her deep understanding of techno's myriad flavours come from two decades of industry experience as well as esoteric productions on labels like Mysteries Of The Deep and L.A.G. (her own short-lived, underrated, essential techno platform).

Kimskii's long time in the techno scene, her experience and her expertise is expressed in full form on her RA Podcast Moving from industrial grit to gentle transcendence to heady acid, the mix feels free, fluid but also remarkably precise, just like Kimskii herself.

As the updated old saying might go, life is like a Lydo set - you never know what you're gunna get. This New York City-based interdisciplinary artist has plenty of tricks up their sleeve and a real love of mixing up genres in ways you wouldn't think possible. They have done so across Europe and North America and have a hardcore following at home where they run the legendary X-TRA.SERVICES. It makes regular seasonal appearances at BASEMENT, where LYDO (@lydole) is also a resident, and is a safe place to party for queer, trans, and non-binary people of colour.

LYDO's selections for us this week blow open the usual boundaries of techno. It's a mix of contrasts, where barrages of noise and malfunctioning machines are lit up by the most gorgeous melodies. Thumping and heavy rhythms are offset by wispy and light-emitting synth leads as energy levels are masterfully controlled. They build to moments of real intensity before being boiled down to pent-up promise and heads-down grooves. Somehow these sounds are both retro yet future, animalistic yet human, and they are proof that LYDO is a standout contemporary talent.

Before doing so, we would like to thank all artists and attendees who joined our events in Saigon, Tokyo, and other places. Many thanks to you all. It is wonderful to see the great reception we received this year. A heartfelt thank to all of you.

We are pleased to share the recording of CEM and DJ Saliva for the final podcast. Both are well known for their work with the Herrensauna collective and their focus on the faster sounds of the musical spectrum, but for this occasion, they went B2B for a wide-ranging session that meanders through musical styles far from the faster realm. The night was in which the weather made its mark: It was an evening with heavy rains and thunderstorms, which is reflected in their recording. Expect soundscapes, jazz, ambient, experimental, and everything in this podcast.

MAYUDEPTH is a DJ and producer based in Tokyo. In 2018, she released the EP 'Sneakpeek' on the 'Shiki-Kyokai' label, which is led by Japanese techno sound innovator DJ SHUFFLEMASTER. She has also released tracks on the German label 'Ohrfeigen'. In 2022, she released her second EP titled 'Angels from Hell', featuring film director Umi Ishihara.

In terms of DJing, MAYUDEPTH's style is rooted in techno, incorporating various genres such as industrial, electro, breakbeats, and house music. This fusion expresses a powerful and profound worldview through infectious grooves. Her DJ activities span from the alternative underground scene to major Japanese festivals like Rainbow Disco Club. Her energetic and seamless mixing style has garnered a global following, with appearances on radio shows and platforms worldwide, including BOILER ROOM. 

In 2022, she released an official mix on Apple Music. MAYUDEPTH is a resident DJ and curator of "MOTORPOOL," a significant presence in the Japanese queer party scene with DJ DSKE. She consistently explores electronic dance music with a daring and open-minded approach.

mu"he has built an unquestionable reputation as a multi-genre DJ with the versatility to both build up a room and command the peak hours of a rave.
Based in Berlin since May 2023, mu”he has been quickly booking appearances at some of Berlin’s best clubs and festivals across Europe–most notably: 
Lunchmeat Festival, Whole Festival, Berlin Atonal, Jera on Air, and an array of Berlin clubs including ://about blank, OXI, and Tresor.
With a range encompassing styles from techno and trance to hardcore, jungle, and footwork, mu"he deftly weaves across the BPM spectrum, 
unafraid to intersperse tough physical grooves with moments of dance floor euphoria.

This set is the one when mu"he played on the main floor at main time at the party which was held at a secret venue in Berlin.
it starts from deep techno and goes to leftfield techno, groovy and hard minimal.
Enjoy the danceable groove made by the precise changes in sounds and beats.
