Waddling smoothly between interstellar places within minutes without working up a sweat.

These 3 versions of the track Deía do exactly this. And they do it with elegance and fleet-footedness. Even if all the tracks are quite different from each other, so they all circle around the same yellow glowing ball of light in the same solar system. They share the warmth of a fervent sun-soaked afternoon. An afternoon perfect to discover stars and explore little adventures.

The original track from Mira & Christopher Schwarzwalder takes its time before it puts you in your space suit. It guides you into your journey with a cautious hand, letting the engine reverberate at just the right time. It doesn’t matter if we’re ascending or descending through the atmosphere, we’re on the move.

Ruede Hagelstein also takes his time. First, he sends us a postcard with the most beautiful description of his home planet. Later, he begins to fill us in on all the details of its origins and history. All this he does with the guiding hand of a perfectly experienced travel guide who loves nothing more than to share these little secrets and stories with you.
AVEM, in turn, picks us up with his planet cruiser - an old family heirloom – which he has devotedly maintained for years. The sound aboard prepares for the slightly wonky sunrises in his homeland. He points out of the cockpit with bright eyes and whistles „Deía - oh, Deía – we are coming!“

Niki Sadeki, is the curator of Deep House Vancouver and as a DJ, she's gradually amplified a signature sound fluidly grounded in deep progressive up and downtempo ranges. What carries her sets has less to do with genre and more with isolating a mood, and building up different currents around it. Words from Niki: 
"Longer sets always mean having the opportunity to explore many different moods and styles, finding that common thread between them, and the ability to bring them all  together. Working on this mix was an absolute pleasure. I took it as the opportunity to mute the outside world for hours and to dive into the world of music - my happy place. I don't want to get super sentimental here, but making this mix was definitely a healing journey for me, and I felt I got to reconnect with a side of me which has been less present in the past year or so. I hope you enjoy going through it, as much as I did :)"

While the yellow silhouette of the golden morning sun stands out on the horizon and all life awakens, the penguin rubs his sleepy eyes and shakes its frozen plumage. He waddles slowly and deliberately, the cool water promisingly in front of him. 

After dunking his head under the surface, he feels an eerie feeling of refreshment. Quickened by this feeling, he makes his morning laps around the ice floes and waves to his comrades on the shore, who gradually start following him.

Matija is a well-travelled gentleman: From the Swiss province, where he took his first (and second) musical steps, he was drawn to the street jungle of the German capital Berlin, where he stayed for 6 years and deepened his craft. Together with his then roommate Dave Dinger, he moved around the houses and rocked clubs like Bar25 etc. with him.

And if you make it in Berlin, you take little Zurich by storm: Matija set out to conquer the Swiss scene metropolis after his return. With success: After party series in the supermarket, Hive (and other clubs) he worked for years as a night manager in the Zurich Hive Club and still continues to play in this one as a resident.

As a former night manager of Gonzo, Frieda's Büxe and Hive, he has now been on the road as a DJ for 24 years throughout Switzerland and often internationally, among others with Dave Dinger. With his sets he always provides that certain treat on the dancefloors.

Am Sonntag durften wir das letzte Mal den Salon unserer Lieblingsbucht aufsperren. So viele liebgewonnene Gesichter zu sehen, hat uns die Aufregung, den nahenden Abschied und eine Raumtemperatur von mindestens eintausend Grad für kurze Zeit fast vergessen lassen. Mit unserem weißen Taschentuch standen wir am Hafen und haben uns Schweiß und die eine oder andere Träne aus dem Gesicht gewischt. Ein letztes „Lebe hoch“, kein Lebewohl, an die Bucht, in der unser Herz für immer vor Anker liegt!

everything was special on this weekend: I could play longer than expected - I could say GOODBYE to this place in my special way and I could collect even more wonderful and intense moments. especially at the end of my set . . . that's why . . . at the beginning I publish the last 2hours and 25minutes of my extended set. in the end it was a 6 and a half hour set - because leaving the DJ-booth is not an option. what should I say about a place and time what must be felt. where the Salon belongs to the Bucht in Berlin, that's where I go. and if it goes longer than expected, then i'm still waiting - time goes by, but I  will keep the spirit within me. till the bitter end.

Nach 10 Jahren verlassen wir das sinkende Schiff. Nach einem langen Kampf ergeben wir uns nun. 
Wir hatten eine fantastische Zeit mit euch, haben legendäre Tage und Nächte zusammen verbracht. Und genau in diesem Sinne werden wir nicht im Stillen verschwinden.

want to share something special with you. maybe some of you know, normally i do not publish recordings but that 100min (from 190) are need to be shared with you. so I present to you the first half of my set from last friday at a Bay in Berlin for Animal Farm Festival. it was to support the organization for the festival and so I hope, that you can catch the moment a bit, cause playing at Saloon between Vruno and Bernstein (in the morning from 6 till 9) was so much fun.

We have the captain on board the Sunset Grooves Ship for number 99! Just after he started his wonderful Seaside Trip Podcast, Sunset Grooves launched it's very own podcast. Funky Chap was featured on his podcast and ever since then had given an open invitation for Rolandson to feature on the Sunset Grooves podcast. We don't believe in coincidence, and the fact that he was not able to do one until now, seems to be wonderful timing for him to feature on last podcast before a special 100th podcast for Sunset Grooves.

Rolandson, a traveler not a tourist and this traveler of music and sounds began his voyage in the mid 90s and has since explored the depths of 90s Berlin dub & techno, the electro swing revival in Paris/ France and Brighton/ England, downtempo and indigenous sounds from all over the world during his travels and discovering many more musical impulses that have shaped his life along the years. So in this his selections are always a highly curated combination of unique tracks that are timeless and that overcome the boundaries of genre, country, or context.

This mix of almost 2 hours will take you on a downtempo journey of wonderful sounds. The effort and time went into this mix should not go unnoticed and you will with your own ears discover the magic that comes from Rolandson's muscial mind and talented hands on the decks.
