Jessy Mach's Final Lap is an intoxicating mix of retro-synth energy, otherworldly rhythms and guitar skill. The entire album is full of life and unfolds in an exuberant flash of emotions and retro futuristic layered synthetic sounds.
It's an entertaining and engaging listening experience. Many of the tracks take us deep into the 80's generation to the arcades where gamers spent all their evenings and money.It's a feeling that happens when you listen to it, it's not a musical technique. Jessy didn't decide to compose in 8bits or to do video game covers, but he transports us here and there in last laps or chases reminding "Hard drivin", "Chase HQ", "Ridge racer" and other retro gaming legends. Get this in your head, Mach's music and your imagination will do the rest.

The brand new album by Jessy Mach is finally here. The signature of Jessy is in this opus always very present: A Synthwave/Retrowave style which asserts itself thus oscillating between sequenced basses, running in an Outrun vibe but also including sharp synth riffs. The electric guitar in this record is also very present.

The French producer sometimes takes us to darker places where we feel his first love of rock and metal ("M.A.R.S", "Wheels of hell"). Many passages remind us energetically of the years when Junos, Prophets and Moogs keyboards crossed swords with the shred of 80s guitarists.

"Night Shifter" could be considered as an eclectic Synthwave record because there is also a more pop orientation of some tracks. Thus, the album is less instrumental and Jessy was able to surround himself with beautiful vocal collaborations thanks to signing to Aztec Records. The Retrowave star vocalist LAU performs marvelously on "Find love" and the guys of YOUNG EMPRESS totally bewitch us in the piece "Lifeline" which only climbs in a heady, sidereal and bewitching progression.

"Countach and Sunrise"... Is everything in the title?
Not quite. But indeed, in this EP, we're keeping it pretty down-to-earth because the message is crystal clear: sharing the joy of getting behind the wheel of a legendary and iconic car from the '80s and reliving the best moments of that inspiring era.

Sometimes the vibe is energetic and lively, echoing the accelerations of the beast, and at other times, we're literally cradled by the smoothness of a nostalgic cruise with evocative sonic ingredients.

It's all there: Italo disco, chilling synthwave vibes, the FM sounds of the DX7, and the energetic bass of an overdriven Oberheim...
Not to mention the electric guitars and a few solos that could just as well come straight from a 1986 Marshall.

So, once again, a journey to the edges of nostalgia, blending the past but strangely, decisively pointing towards the future.

Two musicians, producers and composers from two different musical worlds meet again after two decades of separation. This second meeting was inevitable as the desire to merge their ideas was so strong.
Coming from the Toulouse scene (France), one continued to scour the international rock scene (Voodo Angel) and the other started to produce electronic music on the French Riviera (Mr Fuzz, Sofian Rouge).
Their childhood is bathed in the universe of the 80's, musical playground of predilection for this combo born at the borders between synthwave and darkpop.
