Come To The Dark Side - Promo Mix

Penny is a DJ, vocalist / songwriter, and producer from the South of England. First discovered by Yamatai Records for her strong passion for the deeper darker side of minimal Drum & Bass. This shows through in Penny’s mixing style keeping in dark but yet energetic with her track selection and switch ups.  

She has Co-founded new label Kengai Records and aids in label management. Penny has also been involved with the likes of Inovate Collective, Crossroads Records & Blender Collective events. 


Penny has started a new podcast called Deep Dissonance which will start broadcasting through Data Transmission this year. Where she will be showcasing underground tracks, creating a platform for guest mixes, speaking with artists & labels about their journey and how mind & music interact with each other.  

She has been focusing on songwriting & vocals in the background, collaborating with various producers to home in on her sound. Alongside learning music production we look forward to hearing her work soon.

After five years of planning, writing, and refining their sound, London-based production duo Kolectiv are set to release their long-awaited debut drum & bass album, Circadian Rhythms.

The project began in the aftermath of the pandemic, when the pair started setting aside tracks that captured the spirit of a night out at a drum & bass event. Their vision was clear: to create an album that reflects the variety, energy, and progression of a rave – from the first beats that pull you into the closing sounds that carry you home.

“Going out to drum & bass nights, you’d hear so many different flavours across six or seven hours. We wanted the album to follow that same arc – like a circadian rhythm, a natural flow of time, but in this case the cycle of a rave,” Kolectiv explain.

To achieve this, the duo placed a strong emphasis on originality and sound design. Most of the album was built from scratch using their own recorded samples, crafted through sessions with keys, drums, and guitars, and only dipping into external sources when absolutely necessary. Vocal collaborations from PAV4N, Hijak MC, Illmatika and Kerry Donnelly add unique flavour to the project, while carefully placed interludes tie the project together as a complete listening experience.

“This isn’t just a collection of tracks. We wanted it to be a journey – a cradle-to-grave kind of experience – with highs, lows, and moments to breathe.”

The title Circadian Rhythms captures that intention perfectly: an audio diary of a night spent immersed in drum & bass culture, told through Kolectiv’s trademark blend of technical precision and emotional depth.

The project also coincided with a complete studio overhaul, giving Kolectiv a fresh environment to finalize and mix down the record with a renewed sense of clarity and focus.

With Circadian Rhythms, Kolectiv deliver more than an album – they present a story, an atmosphere, and a tribute to the music and culture that shaped them.

We are proud to introduce the 'Griselda EP', curated by Hickupz and featuring Rezin. Hickupz (aka Jack Hickman) is producer/DJ from Birmingham, and has already made his mark in the Drum & Bass scene. He specialises in the deeper, darker and the more minimal side to the spectrum, with releases already on imprints such as Planet Misteron, Subplate Recordings, Actin Out and Madworld, as well as, previous releases on both Twisted Sounds LP's.

The 'Griselda EP' takes you into a world of haunting synths, harmonious atmospherics and deep basslines. Firstly, 'Labyrinth' starts the EP of with intensifying pads and basslines. Followed by 'Sintilation', which brings steppy drums and techy basses together, to create a rig-thumping track. 'Drako' is a collaboration between Hickupz and Rezin. This track brings the darkest of synths, combined with minimalistic drums to form a haunting, yet mesmerising track. Finally, we finish the EP of with the title track 'Griselda'. 'Griselda' is formed of haunting pads, thumping kicks, slapping snares and synths to make you melt.

We are honoured to welcome Hickupz to the Twisted Sounds family. Catch him at our future events, once the events industry is back to the way it was and we can insure safety at our events.
