We're very happy to have Mateo aka @TheusMago join the Sinchi series. Mateo also known for being co-founder of record label Duro and also releasing music and performing under his Bufi moniker. As Theus Mago, he has a rich history of releases on labels such as correspondent, Ombra, La Dame Noir and Lumiere Noire amongst others. As you will read in the below interview, there is much more to come too.

1) Introduce yourself?

My name is Mateo González, I create music and DJ under the aliases Theus Mago and Bufi since the late 2000's.

2) What have been your highlights from the last 12 months?

Definitely my highlight was releasing an EP on one of my all-time favourite labels Optimo Music (EP is out now digitally and one of the tracks was released on vinyl through the same label).

Also touring Europe last April was remarkable, especially playing at Sisyphus Berlin.

3) What do you have lined up for the coming year?

Another European tour in October / November, an EP on Pets Recordings as Theus Mago, an EP with Moderna on Side Up Works (with awesome remixes from Ewan Pearson, Justin Robertson and more), and a Bufi EP on Feines Tier that includes a killer remix from Curses.

@Brauliorenteria is a Dj/Producer from Guadalajara, Jalisco. He defines his sound that oscillates between dark disco and indie dance. 

After his last release with Sinchi where Braulio Renteria provided the unique cut “Venus” for its Altered States Vol.1, he is back with “Advertencia”, a two-track EP for Bonker Records (@bonkersrecordings)that is built upon the foundation of hollow baselines but each track carrying its own flavor of stabs and dark rhythms. Our pick is the lead track “Advertencia”, a dark hitter that does not shy away from elevating the energy as the track progresses with its futuristic elements.

The festival season 2020 might be canceled, but the open air feel lives on in Levantine’s first release on Turbolenz. The Mexico City-based producer delivers an absolute dance worthy record that taps into the likes of Disco, Synthwave and House. Combining fizzy textures, sounds and rhythms, the E.P. brings the uplifting songs we need this summer. Its first track 'Metropolis’ immediately throws us onto the dance floor and takes us back to the future. ‘No romance’ drives us uptempo into a vibrant world of multichromatic sounds with contemporary House elements. ‘Burning Cosmos’ then immerses us on a dance floor in zero-gravity, rich of sounds and colors, with dreamy vocals and a full-bodied bassline. The closing is served with a remix by Ruede Hagelstein who deconstructs Levantine’s ‘Burning Cosmos’ entirely, taking it apart and putting it back together in his very own yet unexpected way.
