Chaia performs kleztronica, techno/house music that uses samples, melodies, and rhythms from the Yiddish music world.

Joel Confino is a singer/songwriter who has been involved with popular music for decades, from the illuminating moment of seeing the Beatles live on the Ed Sullivan Show in  1964, when he requested a guitar and amp. He played lead guitar in a number of bands for decades,  but after working for years as an eye surgeon and having developed a strong interest in exploring human nature and communication, decided that songwriting was the best vehicle for combining those skills and love of music. He traded in his Les Pauls and Strats for a couple of Martins, and having connected with a talented producer, Art Hays, wrote ad recorded a number of songs, telling stories with essential emotional elements. Several years ago, having explored a wide range of rock and pop genres, he decided that he could even better express himself by recording the vocals as well , channeling a Leonard Cohen/Lou Reed baritone into new songs that became even more personal.  he said “Having come to songwriting later in life, I have years of accumulated life experience from which to draw, and hopefully some more years of putting “pen to paper” and telling new stories”. He has typically written both the words and music, but has also collaborated successfully with talented composers who fuse their music and his lyrics into a diverse variety of songs.
