A rising name in Berlin’s ever crowded pool of talents, Eerste Communie resident Windfuhr has been developing his own idiosyncratic persona at the junction of heavy-traction 4x4 rhythms and deep, hypnotic folds of intricate melodies and exotica-laced electronics. Minimal in essence but maximal in effect, his compositions bridge the gap between stripped-back functionality and dreamy escapology, neatly coordinating the throbbing cavalcade of racy uptempo machine funk with layered, modular-like transmissions as his feverish drum programming leads the charge. No doubt Windfuhr’s name is one you’ll hear a lot more in 2024.

Cirkle is the 197th guest of our podcast series. The Greek DJ and producer has been active first as a DJ and then also as a producer for the better of two decades. Since, he has had numerous releases on labels such as SK_Eleven, Float Records, Deep Sea mining syndicate, Voltage and Dyad.

As these labels might suggest, his sound is often characterized by Deep thumping kick and base rythms, off-kilter stabs and synths and industrial feeling soundscapes.

While DJing, he blends deeper tracks with higher intensity cuts, creating a seamless energy flow. This podcast clearly reflects his mixing style, taking you on a journey with an abstract opening, a deeper middle section and a bittersweet ending.

Vault Sessions #197 - Cirkle

Fast. Impulsive. Techno. Three words to establish and define what the artist known as Egotot is all about. The young musician, hailing from the deep south of Germany, sets quite the pace when it comes to his vision of electronic music, regarding both tempo as well as quality. His beats, be in the studio or in the DJ booth, appear to come and arrange themselves seemingly with no effort. A Rave-infected sonic testing ground without ever feeling like a simple Rave pastiche. A vision of Techno that is obviously inspired by its sound of the 90s, but neither exceedingly aggressive, nor excessively happy.
Egotot has a special taste for rugged, up-tempo grooves which demand their own time to breathe and reveal their power. A sonic all-purpose weapon to be used on, for, and by the dance floor. However, his sense for music doesn’t stop at the edge of dancefloor-oriented Rave. It goes far beyond, right to and through the sometimes more and sometimes less subtle tides of electronic music.
This exemplarily reflects in his very own imprint, Schimmer Records, which he founded in 2019. The label has, in a rather short period of time, already evolved to a sonic reservoir of all different shades, all of which share a commonality – quality in production, love to detail, and an undeniable appeal to avid devotees of electronic music of all kinds. 
There is nothing confusing about Egotot’s take on music. It is clean-cut, it is straightforward, it is always effective. The Industrial clout, the fast groove, the merciless rigor – this is how Techno should sound in the 21st century, and Egotot is its perfect avatar.

Leipzig-based V:SONNTAG is making waves in the underground techno scene. As a member of Nebula Kollektiv and curator of the FOCUS: series, where she champions the visibility of FLINTA* artists, she showcases her own vision of techno.

When DJing, her sound is a relentless blend of super sleek, minimal grooves, packed with infectious beats and hypnotic rhythms that keep the energy flowing, capturing the dancefloor with her powerful and mesmerizing pulse, framed in an eerie ambience.
