Our #7 guest artist SEKULAHR ( @sekulahr ) shows his dark and harsh soul with special hybrid mix. Also we just started to collab with @rootradiolive , we are premiering our guest mixes on every 4th wednesday and preparing for some live acts!

Sekulahr is an Istanbul based DJ/producer and one of the co-founders of Vast Perception collective who has been performing techno since 2017. He first came into contact with music during his early childhood years. Before he met techno, he was performing in various bands as a guitarist/keyboardist and playing mainly funk, jazz and blues. As his musical direction changed over the time, he found himself dealing with sound design and, he’s been creating his own productions since then. In his performances, he is focused on building dense industrial atmospheres blended with offbeat elements and powerful low ends.

OCTOPUS! on ROOT RADIO / 002

For my "Tolga Baklacioglu invites" program series on ROOT Radio, Istanbul, it has been a real pleasure for me to invite Darja Kazimira, who is a Latvian vocalist, improviser, composer, multi-instrumentalist, artist and creator of the project of the same name. The main point of Darja Kazimira project creative search is the ritual (mainly burial, funeral traditions; cults of the ground, sacred violence), and the comprehension of its space and properties. A special place in the concept of the project is occupied by the study of the construction of sacred and hierophonic space, and their relationship with thanatology, criminology, anthropology, psychiatry and ethnography. All acts of Darja Kazimira are improvisation, impulse, random confluence of symbols, sounds, languages and etc. However, all this is framed by a rigid structure within the process; discipline, bodily practices and author's methodology, where the artist's personality is erased, and the act of myth-making begins, fully integrated into life. 

Darja's mix is a really special set which has awakened lots of inspiration in myself.  This is a lot of authentic recordings from Macedonia, Greece, Georgia, Croatia, Serbia, Czech Republic, Lithuania, Prussia, as well as works by such huge and wonderful musicians as Tanya Tagaq, Psarantonis (Antonis Xylouris, Ψαραντώνης), Svyatoslav Ponomarem (Purba), Yan Nikitin (Театр Яда), Alexey Tegin (Phurpa, Corps) and Stefan Joel Weisser (Z’EV).

Kamilé aka Caline with C is originally from Lithuania, currently based in the Hague, Netherlands for her master studies in Sonology. Besides DJing, producing, composing, playing synthesizers and sculpting sounds, she is interested in learning new ways how to comprehend sound processes through programming. She is inspired by the chaos and order in it, nature, evolution and the human body.
