Barbuto’s DJ career spans over 27 years, delivering powerful, high-energy techno sets around the world. Known for his skill-driven, turntable-inspired style, his performances are dynamic and immersive. He’s played at standout venues like White Rabbit Berlin, Melkweg Amsterdam, Playhouse Malta, and North American institutions including Coda Toronto, Space Miami, and Avalon LA. With 22 Beatport Top 100 tracks and collaborations alongside names like Enrico Sangiuliano, Black Asteroid, and Spektre, Barbuto remains a respected figure in the underground. Now based in Australia, he heads Mavic Music and co-owns Sydney’s On Cue DJ School.

F.R.E.D. AKA (Derek Mc Manus) started his DJing career in 2006 learning his trade on the decks of Trinity Rooms Nightclub initially grabbing opportunities to experiment during 'breaks' from his day job there as a storeperson. It wasn't long before Derek's DJing talents were spotted and his day job was quickly made into a night job as he was made a resident at the club. Fast-track forward 5 years and Derek has come a long way supporting the likes of Deadmau5, Dave Seaman, Japanese Popstars, James Zabiela Marco V, Mauro Picotto, Ferry Corsten, Eric Prydz, Sander Van Doorn, Dave Clarke, Pyscatron, Felix Da Housecat, Leeroy (Prodigy), and also played back to back with Eddie Halliwell in Trinity Rooms while finding time to play in the PlanetLove Festival twice. After DJing success he began running his own clubnight Sunday Sessions which hosted top Irish acts such as Ian O'Donovan and Psycatron whilst giving local acts opportunity to play as he had been given.

Derek was also a resident and promoter at one of Ireland's top clubnights BUNGA BUNGA playing with the likes of Mark Knight, Luigi Rocca and Ant Brooks where his style has moved on from his early progressive years to what is now bouncy  to chunky Tech House and Techno. He has also been hosted on the main stage at the Aquaphonic Festival in the Czech Republic played at Electric Picinic, Egg London And Oxegen Festival. 

These days Derek is full time in the studio. Producing his forward driving Techno sound. The future is bright for F.R.E.D.'S productions and releases with track support from 

Marco Carola, Ritchie Hawtin, Maceo Plex, Marcel Dettman, John Digweed, Laurent Garnier, Solomun, Ilario Alicante, Danny Taneglia, Nic Fanciuli, Chris Lake, Paco Osuna, Paul Okenfold, Roger sanchez, Claptone and many more.
