Oramics Premiere is our new series on SoundCloud and YouTube that will showcase fresh tracks and videos from female, non-binary and queer producers. We want to use our platform to celebrate emerging talents and independent labels that support them.

Nino Davadze is an experimental musician and multimedia artist from Tbilisi, Georgia. She draws inspiration from classical music training and choral singing in an Orthodox church in the Georgian countryside. Nino’s formative years in She eld, UK, had sparked the idea of combining two parallel universes into her compositions - avant-garde electronic sound and storytelling using the spoken word and field recordings. Nino’s recent live performances brought her to share the stage with the likes of Mark Fell, Sote and Rian Treanor, as well as collaborations with Mutant Radio, New Drama Festival, and CES Records, the platforms that are at the forefront of Georgian contemporary art.

The symbiosis of knife-edged experimental electronics, synthesised vocals and field recordings by Tbilisi-based composer and multidisciplinary artist Nino Davadze. She debuts on the London art platform inklingroom with ‘Geometry of Soviet Women’ - two tracks that shuttle between the deconstructed club and ambient aim to encapsulate contemporary Georgian society's resilience and vulnerability from the eco-feminist perspective.

Hailing from Tbilisi, the experimental artist Nino Davadze uses her heavily distorted sound pallet, minimalist ambient soundscapes and profound lyrics as a language to express how her motherland is adapting to important changes in the new era.
The rawness of field recordings with heavily distorted drums, dark industrial bass, and sinister vocals ties all the abstract nostalgic reflections happening in urban spaces in the Georgian capital Tbilisi. Davadze tries to capture the intricate utopian vision and a fragile voice of anger, a desperate message, and a letter from the beloved city with a tangible memory of its people. Through the harsh, abrasive, metallic tones, Nino aims to create a sense of urgency; it’s the language she uses to manifest resistance.

One of my favourite Ecstatic Dance sessions I played this year so far - Feels like a good first one to share, following nearly a year of no posts, as I launch my Pro Soundcloud account, moving away from Mixcloud. 

This really was a beautiful & powerful cacao fuelled journey; played live at the Ecstatic Experiences retreat in Devon back in Spring. (next retreat's/weekly dances here: https://linktr.ee/ecstaticdance.uk)

Take a few breathes, have a shake, close your eyes and let the music move you & the ceremony begin. As always with EDance we start grounded and steady, so skip 10-15mins if you wanna get into the beats faster :)
