Beck recently collaborated with Jack White to release a new single on Third Man. The 7″ features the new tracks “I Just Started Hating Some People Today” and “Blue Randy.” White produced both songs, playing drums on the latter and adding “punk vocals” to the former. “I Just Started Hating Some People Today” begins as an old-school country jaunt that suddenly switches up into hardcore punk, and becomes a funky porno groove at the end.

Composition with musical interplay and polyrhythmic elements throughout creates a signature sound with percussive elements driving the groove forward in these recordings by Ross Henry.  His freshman EP features Ross on nearly all instrumentation with the exception of some electric guitar work by Jared Denton Jones and Travis John Allen.  Once primarily a drummer Ross has recently been focusing on writing and producing his own material.  Writing topics include manic depression, heartache, reticent life misunderstood, internet privacy and the surveillance state, loss and finding hope in a seemingly hopeless future.  Born in Minnesota, Ross has been active in various music scenes including Minneapolis, MN and Austin, TX.
