"I was stoked to be asked to record this mix because it encouraged me to slow down and delve into gentler textures and rhythms than usual. My club sets are deeply percussive so it was cool to take this into a slower pace with harps, glittering synths and spacey reverb. It's an extra little drop of Summer before the heat leaves us, that ends on an uplifting note.

The mix opens with a sound recording I took during a sunrise in Kāne‘ohe Bay, Hawaii; you can hear the hum of creatures and the woosh of the breeze. I hope this music evokes stillness and joy in you. I loved putting it together."

Rosy will be taking day to night with dub, slow disco and some oddball discoveries to spice up your dreams.

Coming through with an incredible warm-up guest mix for our next party on 25th March, Rosy Ross steps up with some ziggly synth chuggers to get you in the flow of the weekend.

Rosy's versatility spans across dub, house, disco, and the cosmic spells in-between. An active member of DJ collective Sisu, and part of the management team at Threads Radio, also running her residency 'En Vacances' inspired by seaside resorts and the stranger edges of the balearic and downtempo sound. 

Rosy hosts long sets at venues like Brilliant Corners, hwk and Faith In Strangers, and serves the dancers for The Cause parties, Dalston Superstore, Adonis and Margate Arts Club, among others. We're very excited to have her come up to Liverpool to play Keep It Cryptic's first secret location party since 2020.

"I loved putting this together! After-the-afters music for rolling one and floating a little longer, before drifting back down to mother earth. Every song holds a thought or a spell. I was guided by Eris Drew's writing on rave integration, a recent-ish 'Cosmic Anarchy' newsletter from Ayesha Khan, and Ursula K Le Guin's ‘carrier bag theory' of being in the world.

'Music is not meant as an escape, false utopia or expression of happiness. It is meant to conjure feelings of connection to the earth and each other, which I think we need to internalize to be motivated to heal ourselves and to feel a direct responsibility to try to address the world’s problems.' - Eris Drew
