I grew up listening to flips of the Isley Brothers "Between the Sheets" from Biggie's "Big Poppa" to "Nika" by Lil Vicious, but by far my favorite flip was the beat for "Ignorant Sh*t" by Jay-Z. Loyal consumer of Queens Blvd bootlegs I heard the original all Jay-Z version before Beanie was added for the American Gangster soundtrack version. Later on Drake and Lil Wayne dropped 64 bars each on it calling their version "Ignant Sh*t" in a clear attempt to top the original. I never liked any of the bars as much as I liked the beat. I never thought anything as meaningful was happening with the bars as such a beautiful beat called for. So I thought it was a waste. So I went to go do it justice and speak power and truth as almighty God blesses me to do. I tapped Shad as my running mate because he's amazing with the sauce while still maintaining insight and poignancy and love. The result is a cut I think is really important at showing cats how it should be done. And the play on the title is yo all that other nonsense cats was spitting on this gorgeous beat, we ignoring all of that. Nonsense we straight ignore.

Howdy folks, this a tribute to one of my favorite hip hop groups ever De La Soul. I tried to flip "Stakes Is High", but change the time signature from 4/4 to a 6/8. l wanted to keep the vibe of the original.

Life very much got in the way, and I didn't get to do this the way I wanted, but I still got _something_ done like I said I would.

Rotaris makes hip hop for smart folks. He blends speedy flows and poetic flourishes together with deft instrumentation.

Born in Bangalore and based in Sydney, he infuses his experiences as an Indian-Australian over choice sample chops and drum grooves. His eclectic tastes are reflected in his music — with topics ranging from being a paper plane champion (he has represented Australia in the world finals), cheeky commentary on veganism, to examinations of pseudoscience.

A self-taught newcomer to the hip hop music scene, he has also performed in many local events such as Parramatta Lanes and 4Elements All Age Hip Hop Festival — where he shared the stage with the likes of L-FRESH The LION and Sarah Connor.
