Many a morning  Dan I and i would talk about taking the show on th eroad maybe once or twice a month to some breakfast pkace up North. I had the technology to get the show on the air even if we didn't have internet, because I had a Marti receiver that I had in Splendora that would have been able to backhaul the audio . Still had those 3 old Marti RcV sites that I used as a backup should the internet fail during a broadcast.

On 11/1/2023, country music fans in Houston, Texas woke up to one less radio station for their enjoyment.  KTHT/Country Legends 97.1 has been sold and the format has changed.  In Part 2 of our chat with market veteran Dan Gallo, we talk much more about his days at KTHT, KILT, highlights and lowlights of his career, missteps, mismanagement and what he is doing now. We pick things up around 1997, when Dan was at KILT. Mel Karamzin’s Infinity Broadcasting owned the station, and consultant Rick Torcasso along with newly minted Program Director Debbie Brazier ushered in some refreshing guidance to KILT and its airstaff. But the fun did not last long.
