Boom Boom Bean Selecta is the feline DJ’ing Alter-ego of street artist Leonie Rhodes. They bring decades of international raving experience to the Australian dance floor. Mixing creatively, intuitively, and intellectually, BBBS creates tightly mixed dance floor experiences across 4 decks. Bean Selecta grew up in South East London and was a child of the Jungle movement, they witnessed the birth of Breaks, Dubstep, Drum and Bass, Garage and the culturally transformative power of the House music generation. 

Bean Selecta's sets are laden with heavy bass lines, serious London grit, groove, nostalgia and radical storylines. Their musical and event production work attempts to dissolve the boundaries between performance art and underground rave culture and loosen the performer and audience divide. 
Bean Selecta collaborates with musicians, projection artists, digital painters, graffiti writers, performance artists, Butoh practitioners and contemporary dancers and encourages participation of the audience to try to create experiences of mutual and collective joy.

Starting out as a duo, the Commix name has graced some of Drum & Bass’ leading labels since coming to prominence in the early 2000’s, and the debut album, ‘Call To Mind’, holds the honour of being the first solo artist album for historic label Metalheadz. The lead single, 'Be True', has long since cemented its place in Drum & Bass history as an anthem on the grandest scale, and the album itself was incredibly well received across the electronic music spectrum and is widely regarded as one of the best D&B LPs of all time.

As a DJ his focus is on the deep, the experimental and the musical. Drawing on his wealth of experience in both Drum & Bass and 4x4 based genres, he joins these styles together in a mesmerising weave, defying genre and categorisation, that cements his reputation as one of the most respected artists in the scene today.
