We are excited to present to you this special Far Blue concept, in which, for the first time in the history of the series, two artists express their perceptions together. In this beautiful, one hour and twelve minutes set, Ninze and Bonjour Ben sure sound like a symbiosis you didn’t know you needed. 

“Almost ten years. What started with an internet acquaintance, turned into musical appreciation and then friendship. Similar views and common dislikes. Own principles are held higher than potential success. Deep House matters more than charts. Better slow than fast. Never silence, even though others might not understand. Support, even in rough seas. Once loosing fun, other ideas are needed -  you wanna record something new?" 

Their first set together - a sign of friendship.

A Far Blue concept by Ninze & Bonjour Ben - 'Der Traum vom Haus'

This month we welcome Ada from our hometown Hamburg to our mix series. Ada already captured our hearts over 20 years ago with her house anthems on Areal Records. Since then she released an album and a single on Pampa. 

Pingipung's very own Andi Otto is part of the Alien Orchestra that supports Ada during her recent shows. You can catch them live on the 12th October in the Elbphilharmonie, Hamburg. Ada and Andi also DJ together on the 6th July at Jupiter, also in Hamburg.

I guess deeply rooted this mix was inspired by my father's taste in music back when I was still in the crib. i remember hearing spacey and loungy jazz tunes right from the getgo. those kind of sounds will stay with me for ever and constantly close circles of some sort."

The music comes from Meredith Monk, Azimuth, Rainer Brüninghaus, Eberhard Weber, John Surman, Pat Metheny, Steve Tibbetts, Tamia & Pierre Favre, Codona, Nana Vasconcelos, Steve Eliovson, Veljo Tormis, Ketil Bjornstad, Don Cherry.

ECM was founded by Manfred Eicher in Munich in 1969 and soon developed into a melting pot of interesting musical fusions. Jazz, folk, classical music, various African, Asian, South American and European sound idioms, minimalism, ambient, avant-garde and electronic music came together in the ECM cosmos. Artists such as Don Cherry, Steve Reich, Meredith Monk, the Art Ensemble of Chicago, Jon Hassell, Eberhard Weber, Carla Bley, Keith Jarrett and Arvo Pärtt have found a home there.
