Edward has been practicing Zen since 1965; he was ordained by Shunryu Suzuki Roshi in 1971, who gave him the name Jusan Kainei, Longevity Mountain, Peaceful Sea. He has spent the last forty years teaching, cooking, writing, and leading retreats all over the US, Canada, and Europe.

Stream of Sound present all sorts of concerts: from tiny churches to great Town Halls, and from Folk Clubs to Festivals, you’ll find that we are at home in any venue.

Secondly, we run Singing Days for young people, residential sessions for teenagers and workshops for people of all ages: we’ll go for any way of getting people to sing in harmony with us.

In the last couple of years we’ve run the youth harmony workshops at the Sidmouth Folk Week, worked with children at the Towersey Festival, performed alongside Black Voices and Ex Cathedra in Birmingham Town Hall, sung for a charity in Worcester Cathedral, been played on BBC radio and made our sixth CD, Time & Tide.
