A song about the Irish wolfhound which have been protecting the families of the Celts from wolves and other foes. These dogs have also been mentioned by Julius Cesar as his soldiers been attacked by Celtic warriors accompanied by giant dogs.

STDM is back!

"Dragonfly" is a sweet and creamy piece of fluff rock, and the next instalment in Jeff's series of "Insect Songs". Last summer sitting by the lake, minding my own business, a shiny green dragonfly came and perched itself on my baseball cap. He stayed there for a while, enjoying the ride! This tune is for that little critter, a fine ambassador for summer... and kind of my favorite insect as of late :)

A little note, some of you might recognize that the bass line contain a short piece which sounds like the main riff of  the bass line for "Owner Of A Lonely Heart" by Yes. This is this is not a coincidence. When I was working on recording the bass line for this song I was trying to figure out the key of the song. So while doing this and seeking ideas for how to lay down the bass line I played this pattern which is basically a partial rundown of the minor scale in the key of C. I recognized of course the line. 
Chris Squire was my bass idol and one of the reasons I've picked up the bass guitar. He is in my eyes the greatest bass player. 
Chris Squire recently passed away, a big loss for us bass players and prog rock lovers. I decided to let this 5 notes be a part of the bass line as a tribute to the magnificent Chris Squire. R.I.P. --- Guy
