I met this weeks guest on the dance floor at a rave. I love that.  I was promoting for an event or handing out stickers or something and I asked him if he was into DNB..He pointed at his T shirt and laughed..then I saw it and I laughed and instantly is was like we had been friends for a long time. Thinking back, I can't remember what was on that shirt at all lol. He introduced himself and it turns out I had been seeing this guys name on flyers for a few years now. The year is 2077. Society has collapsed under the control of a brutal dictatorship. The UK is a military state and all uprisings are suppressed. But one last bastion of resistance remains…through a network of squat raves and free parties…the Night Ravers Control The Underground.

‘The Night Ravers’ is the first release on Codename: RCRDS, the new label from Southampton-based jungle, 160 and atmospheric crew Codename: Amen. The release and label channel the energy of the 90’s rave era, pushing the sound forward into exciting new directions for 2023.

Moakz’s original mix marks a movement away from his previous atmospheric and jazz jungle releases, and towards his hardcore roots. Now complemented by storming remixes from the incredible RAVETRX (HooverSound, forthcoming Club Glow), and the release closes out with the superbly talented NonRev and rising star Cold Leader delivering innovative reworks, with this EP provides a marker of intent for the label and collective artists.

Originally from the Northern Virginia, Washington DC, and Maryland tristate area, Dub Science used to spin Breakbeat on vinyl and has played at many older clubs (Nation, Club Five, etc.) in that tristate area.  He’s been a fan of Drum and Bass music since the late 90’s and after having a very long break has reinvented himself with a new name, a new genre, and fresh music.
