Hypnotic Black Magic at Otsukimi Festival (29.09.23.) in Hakuba, Japan

Really excited to share with you the recording of my set at Otsukimi Festival 2023. It was such a pleasure to explore a more downtempo, but also high energy side of the sound that drives me, with some breaky and ritualistic vibes - hope you'll enjoy!

Again, huge thanks to the Otsukimi Team for all their work! It was such a magical moment to enjoy a top level festival, super well-organised with very good and interesting music, beautiful visuals and amazing people.

It was such an honour to play on the first night under the full moon in the middle of this wonderful Japanese Alps forest. Thank you again for having me and see you very soon again 🙏🏵️

...and the spheres are again in full floating dynamics. As above, so below! It is our good friend Surreal, who is bringing you back on hypnotic track.

The range of his sets spans from Groovy House and Minimal to Uptempo Techno and Psy-Trance. Many years ago, he found his heart’s place in the Südpol Project in Hamburg, along with its sound technology, and is involved as a DJ and producer in various collectives. Currently, he is part of the Bladehouse Project, Soupherb Records, and a member of the Tempest Crew. Due in part to his insatiable thirst for the new, Surreal has been an integral part of the electronic club scene in Hamburg for over a decade, surprising people near and far with his repertoire and mixing style.

He once again proves his wide-ranging and high-quality taste in music and provides us with a mix that shows us his deeper hypnotic side. He pairs classics of the genre with more hidden gems, interwoven by his idiosyncratic mixing style, which is audibly shaped by long, intense club nights. The result is an irresistible flow that effortlessly mediates between deeper nuances and driving elements, all topped off with trippy textures. Get on the surreal wave and venture up to the stars!

Created in the moment and improvised there and then." For two decades Anders has been a reliable source of purist psychedelia for those in the know. Partly as a visionary festival organizer and booking manager for international festivals, partly as a vagabond DJ, and today as one of the label managers for Navigare Audio. Countless gigs, in many corners of the European continent, from small private gatherings in the woods to Ozora Festival, have distilled a very distinct sound that rings true to Anders innermost core. From the early days of Zolod'esque night time Psy to today's matured deep, entrancing Techno there's a direct kinship - depth, hypnosis, subtlety, warmth, beauty, highest possible production value, and, above all, no bullshit danceability.

No início a música era ritmo. Sabor primitivo percussivo temperado com ingenuidade harmónica a que se foram juntando uma enorme complexidade de timbres e melodias. Depois de se apaixonar pelas sonoridades naturais do seu meio ambiente, pelas ondas dos mares, pelas tempestades, pelos chamamentos animais e até pelos silêncios, o ser humano apaixonou-se por si próprio e pela manipulação da sua voz, tornando-se, também ele, um instrumento musical primordial. Ali, naquele instante, aquilo a que hoje chamamos música passou a ser um veículo de expressividade e comunicação emocional, um movimento enraizado na linguagem, nos ritos e na dança. Avançamos alguns milhões de anos e descobrimos que esse veículo se expandiu exponencialmente e se ramificou em submovimentos. O Techno é um deles. Nascido no final dos anos 80 em parte incerta, mas batizado em Detroit, foi sendo moldado com base em filosofias importantes de experimentação, inovação, criatividade, ritmo, textura, melodia, manipulação e até de expressividade associativa, política e foi/é força importante na integração e luta pela igualdade de direitos. De estética heterogénea e maleável, o Techno conhece muitas máscaras e muitas reinterpretações estéticas, sem nunca ter sido descoberto limite ou horizonte. O Techno de hoje honra as suas origens e projeta-se no futuro, sabendo sempre que o agora é tudo.
Enkō é, acima de tudo, um amante de música. Como dj representa um salto para o reino mais hipnótico do Techno, com texturas densas e ritmos complexos. Ao deixar influenciar-se pelo vortex musical britânico e pelas paisagens electrónicas italiana e escandinava, Enkō faz música que é ao mesmo tempo mental e física.
Gravado em direto num evento com selo da promotora OBRΔ, a qual tanto admiramos e que temos vindo a acompanhar já há algum tempo, partilhamos aqui esta viagem para vossa apreciação, capítulo primeiro da nossa Floating Layers Radio. Desfrutem.

FLR02 - Julie Ann

Floating Machine é um projeto de António Lourenço. Nascido em Coimbra - Portugal. Desde muito jovem sentiu-se apaixonado pela música. Interessado em tocar muitos instrumentos como guitarra, piano ou saxofone e fazer parte de alguns projetos experimentais.
Mais tarde, influenciado pela música electrónica, iniciou a sua atividade como Dj. Explorando toda a diversidade musical da cena electrónica, desde sonoridades mais relaxantes ou mais dançáveis, como acid jazz, dub, deep house, até ao techno e progressivo.
O início da produção electrónica começa mais tarde, usando todas as suas influências musicais, explorando as paisagens de sons experimentais, ambientais e também o techno com alguns grooves progressivos.
Tem participado nestes últimos anos em festivais como o Boom Festival, Freedom e Zna Gathering...

FLR03 - Floating Machine (LIVE)

David Rodrigues is the godfather of Cosanostra, the most persistent electronic music promoters and most respected producers of the best underground parties in Coimbra. 2017 is their 18h birthday. The list of names that performed in their weekly residence is endless...
Besides running this conspicuous organization, David also has a weekly radio show in a local station (Radio Universidade de Coimbra) called 'Pangrama' where he explores every aspect of contemporaneous electronic music. Basically David is a digger, and a very experienced one, and he likes to show it in his performances, so expect nothing but hibrid mutant electronics boosted by powerfull bass but allways with refined taste and carefull handling.

Agra invites us to explore the depths of a piercing mountain, often carrying fleetingly to a textural and hardly tangible landscape of a valley at night. Each story he tells theres a softness and an involving feeling of warmth. His passion for dark and dynamic sounds finds its expression in the mixing with gentle melodies and powerful grooves creating transparent, disembodied and almost poetic imprints of a timeless atmosphere. A constant duelling of analogue love and digital know-how.
These dual interests are the core of Agra. While he has one personality aimed at the dancefloor, the other often wanders in a deeper path and more abstract than most of his peers.
Agra.
Man with no country. That is how it must be and how it is.

O percurso musical de Rui G. denota a sua insaciável curiosidade e dedicação à pesquisa sonora. Movido pelo desejo de explorar novos horizontes da música eletrónica, foi desenvolvendo a sua técnica com habilidade e sensibilidade, desafiando-se constantemente a construir narrativas musicais imersivas, onde cada set é uma jornada cuidadosamente tecida.

O seu fascínio pela eletrónica foi crescendo ao longo dos anos, permitindo um refinamento pessoal que culminou com a sua estréia oficial como DJ, em 2009. Nem dois anos depois, em 2011, aceita o convite para integrar o coletivo Elements, uma plataforma de renome dedicada à música eletrónica, sediada em Coimbra. Esta promotora revelou-se um marco fundamental na sua evolução artística, abrindo portas para atuar em eventos e clubes icónicos da cena eletrónica, tanto em Coimbra como no Porto. Foi ao lado de artistas que admira, como David Rodrigues, Nelson Flip, The Advent, Deepbass, Brando Lupi, Nobody Home, NTOGN, BLNDR, Antigone, Dorian Gray, Freddy K e Henning Baer, que Rui G. consolidou a sua identidade sonora.

Dedicado, curioso e ambicioso, Rui G. compromete-se a ultrapassar barreiras musicais, apurando constantemente a sua técnica, descobrindo e revelando novas nuances das paisagens sonoras que oferece ao público. Os seus sets transcendem géneros e desafiam perceções pré-concebidas, convidando o público a uma autêntica viagem sensorial, sempre surpreendente.

Nos últimos tempos, tem marcado presença em clubes de referência como o Gare (Porto), Stilvoll Club (Neuss, Alemanha) e KABINET MÚZ (Brno, República Checa). Em 2022, atinge um dos pontos altos da sua carreira ao atuar no Boom Festival (The Gardens), o maior festival de música eletrónica em Portugal.
