The Breakfast Machine is an independent band with catchy hooks made up of dedicated artists and that is what makes them unique. Winners of the Dallas Observer Music Awards 2012 for Best Rock Act, as well as 2012 Fort Worth Weekly's Best Female Vocalist (nomination for 2013 in process), The Breakfast Machine offer a different type of sound.

Labeled under the general genre of psychedelic pop rock, we represent every aspect of these genres and more. Our diverse music is manipulated through a collaborative effort in our song writing process. The guitarists Ryan Sobczak and Chris Mansfield use pedal boards to great effect to bring a unique sound that The Breakfast Machine is known for, while the bassist Brandon Reynolds and drummer Zach Mayo provide a strong base and solid strength to the music. Lead vocalist Meghann Moore floats her vocals over the music, creating catchy tunes and lyrics that captivate fans and critics, as seen by the quotes below. Together we stress heavily on fantastic live performances and stage presence, as well as instrumental and vocal virtuosity. 

For the past 17 years, the Fort Worth Weekly has been celebrating the wonderful talent in our backyard via our Music Awards, in which readers vote for their favorite artists in genres as diverse as rock and hip-hop, jazz and folk.

As part of the awards every year, we throw a massive FREE daylong concert in the West 7th corridor. Featuring 48 bands -- all nominees and all from Fort Worth (or close enough) -- our Music Awards Festival is the largest celebration of Fort Worth music in the world. This year's event is Sunday, June 22, at eight venues in the West 7th corridor: Capital Bar, Fred's Texas Cafe, The Grotto, Lola's Saloon, Magnolia Motor Lounge, Poag Mahone's, The Pour House, and Rodeo Goat.

The festival also will mark the official release of Frequencies, Vol. 5, our latest annual charity comp CD featuring new or previously unrecorded tracks by select nominees, including Ronnie Heart, FOGG, Jetta in the Ghost Tree, Leon Bridges, Slumberbuzz, The Fibs, Huffer, and more, all recorded live at Eagle Audio on the Near Southside. Proceeds from the $5-a-pop sale of the discs will go toward this year's charity sponsor, the Tarrant Area Food Bank.
