I recommend that anyone learning to play the guitar listen to this piece over and over again, playing the Gm/B♭pentatonic scale in various ways, and trying to find a phrase that you like.

The volume adjustment during mixdown is optimized for the environment when using the earphones that come with the iPhone. If you feel that the volume of the guitar playing in this work is low, please use earphones and check the volume balance of this recording. It seems that earphones other than those that came with the iPhone do not have any problems. When using an Android device and when connecting an audio interface to a PC, I connected inexpensive earphones and confirmed that the guitar volume can be heard at a roughly appropriate balance.

There is another way. Some billion years ago
a curious random flow
of molecules ignited what we now know as life

Well hello. Here’s some rustic Mountain Blues, played on extremely oxidized guitar strings, with me hollering from the mountain top. Hahahaha. The song hints at a personal authenticity, and the experience of possibly unraveling any prior conditioning (Pavlovian or otherwise) that may constrict our lives in some way. It’s also about the different personas we portray to the outside world. How we may act at work, or on a first date, or with our spouse, or kids, friends, enemies, those who hurt us, even our stage personas comes into play…. So this song is asking a lot of us. In other news, right now in June, the mountains are snow covered and it froze last night. That is late spring, early summer here. Gardenwise, this year, I am planting a lot more Brassicas: Kale, Cabbage and Broccoli, and they are growing well. I am going to try to fence off the carrot/beet beds, as the voles always eat more carrots and beets than I ever do. Onions, leeks and garlic have been growing since March. I transplanted 50 lettuce plants I grew from seed that I saved from last year’s lettuce. The berry bushes and fruit trees have really blossomed this year. There are squash, cukes, tomato and pepper plants inside by the window, to be transplanted outside next week, quite a mess… all of which keeps me busy…. Hahaha. note: I recently found this old journal and this riff was played live on my phone upon my front porch during a rain storm this evening. This particular entry was from June 18, 2014.

I was stagnant at work this evening and ventured outside to catch some air and to stretch my legs. The air was thick and stuck to my skin, leaving a glassy resemblance, caught by mine eye, while vainly glimpsing at my reflection in the moonlit window of a fellow employee's sedan. With literally hours until my next deadline, I opted to put some kilometers behind me, and make my way, by foot, towards the local University. 
While venturing through the streets inhibited by, both, students, and families, I found myself drawn to a well kempt bungalow, lit dimly by lamplight, with the sound of classical piano fluttering imperfectly through the screened windows, out into the quiet, darkened street.
Stopping dead in my tracks, I stood, admiringly, for what seemed like several moments, staring dumbfoundedly at the house, only picturing, within my head, the scenes that may be taking place within.
Something about the modesty of practiced, yet, un-perfected art struck me as beautiful and elegant. Perhaps it is because it is something I, myself, can relate to in my endeavors, whether it be sport, music, painting, writing, or anything else I've indulged in within my life.
Nonetheless, something about this moment inspired something within me, and, as I pulled myself away from the scene and continued my evening walk, my inner dialogue began dancing frivolously in my brain. So often these thoughts want to be blurted out by voice, finger picked on guitar, or bled out of a pen, but my anxiety, and utter refusal to let loose my inner creativity, my personal experiences, my soul, has previously crushed my desire to even remotely achieve some sort of self-satisfaction. 
Although words have been written, melodies have been played, and songs have been sung, from now on, there will be no filter. Journals will be kept, rather than torn out and thrown away, edited or deleted. Keep Everything. Every thought. Though, initially, they seem irrelevant, irrational, erratic...anything...they still are the soil from which an idea may grow from, flourish, even. So, even now as I carry on aimlessly, rambling, carrying on...I must say thank you to the pianist for airing my embers with their beautifully imperfect notes.

This one is a very nostalgic song that I wrote back in 2008, it has that early 60's vibe to it. My wife I needed some good vibrations since we were dealing with her Breast Cancer treatments and all that. We really needed a feel good song and so I wrote this. I even got her to sing background vocals with me on two songs at that time, this being the first and "Back In Younger Days" being the second, I'll be making a video on that one later on this year. 
    I double-tracked Charlie's vocals and he sang it perfectly! I remember having a real good time at these sessions, lots of laughing and finger snapping and rockin' & rollin' and what not!😂 I always want to relive the good ole days where smiles were plenty and frowns were few, like on "Memory Lane"!

     The video is brand spanking new, I just finished it last week! I worked hard on it for several days and tried to capture that Beach Boys kind of vibe of the early 1960's. I finished the video after hearing the sad news of Brian Wilson's passing on June 11th, 2025. That really made me sad, another of my musical hero's now gone. He was a real musical genius! There are 3 parts to the song, all about guys begging forgiveness from their girlfriends for something stupid that guys always seem to do, I Still Remember that!😂
     I think this is one Miami Jeff's best songs and certainly one of my favorites. It's very catchy and is a perfect summertime song! So I hope everyone is having a great summer and is eager to take another trip down Memory lane with me. This time to the beach! Let your hair down, take your shoes off, put the top down on the convertible and let the good times roll! Ooh, Ooh! Ooh!😎✌🏼
