Imagine our luck! This week 2012 Breakspoll-winner, Colombo (aka Alejandro Rojo) is a surprise special guest in The Armory! His latest mixset was just dropped into our inbox by our friends at iBreaks so naturally we'll be doubling up on the podcast this week: breaks at the front end with Colombo and some disco house at the back courtesy of San Francisco's Ma Yeah. A native of Malaga and formerly one half of BSD (BASS STAR DOS), Colombo wrote his first dance track in 1999 at the tender age of 17. Following stints with Reflex Musik, Starsing Records and Dubplate Records (2003 through 2007), the young Spanish producer joined forces with iBreaks in 2009 and quickly established himself as the label's brightest star.

Opening a new chapter of the Outcast series, we’re welcoming a freshly formed duo from Northeast England — DADs @dadsmusicuk

Heavily influenced by the deeper sounds of the underground bass music scene, DADs’ production thrives on manipulated and saturated emotive synths, grooving percussion, and robotic vocal chops to capture a poignant sound. Worth mentioning that they have already supported the likes of Overmono, Ben UFO, Jane Fitz, Objekt, Giant Swan, Batu and Kessler.

It's Dima's 'RUNE' birthday today, and the best gift we can give you is the new Outcast from our dear music friend — EVL TOM @evl_tom Over several years of knowing him personally, Tom has proven himself to be a deep and versatile person, especially when it comes to music. We sincerely admire his deep approach and understanding of styles and are happy to share this two-hour mix with all of you!

To confirm these words, here is a first-hand quote from Tom:

"Hello, friends! I was super happy to be asked to do this mix, as the Ukrainian scene and its people are very dear to my heart. Dima asked me for a mix to represent my take on the breakbeat sound as we enter into this new year. I've always felt that breaks can be a versatile and wide-reaching genre, and I’ve tried to explore some of that in this mix.

There are organic, percussive tracks, florida acid, electro and techno ingredients, some reggae, grime, and hip-hop elements, deep rollers, melancholic, melodic bangers, shroomy mind expanders, and plenty of rib cage rattling bass. Just the breakbeat that I love, basically. A few old ones in there but plenty of the new including my new single “Eternal Lids” which is the third single off my upcoming album, “Absolute Melt” which drops on March 1st on OUT YER BOX @out-yer-box. Also, couldn’t resist including a little edit at the end that’s been getting crowds a little hyped lately. Hope you enjoy, and seek out my new bits in those places you do your seeking."
