Singularity and consistency are two words that define Binaryh's trajectory well. The Brazilian duo formed by Camila and Rene has been hitting hits with each new release and has already become one of the most beloved couples on the world techno scene.

The prosperous relationship built between Binaryh and Prisma started in 2018, with the remix of 'Pulsar' by Paulo Foltz. In 2019 the duo released their first authorial EP on the label, 'Hydra', a hurricane on both streaming platforms and dance floors, being played at major festivals around the world by artists like Tale of Us, D-Nox, Eli Iwasa, Renato Ratier and many others. In 2020 two more great original hits with ‘Palladium’ EP also received support from prominent artists such as Fur Coat and Blancah. These releases constitute a solid base that is the result of the union of the serious and solid work of both parties.

We are now in 2021, and Binaryh is back to Prisma Techno for another great chapter in this story with ‘Icarus’ EP, which is the 36th release of the label and marks Prisma’s seven years of existence.

The title track 'Icarus' brilliantly combines two antagonistic forces, acid and melodic, symbolizing the duo essence, a perfect contrast between harmony and chaos. For those who know the history of Icarus, it will be easy to associate the acid tones with the moment when his wings are burning by the heat of the sun, and the melody corresponding to the dazzle of being flying. 'Icarus' demonstrates all the duo genius, presenting characteristics never seen in their previous productions. It's a powerful weapon, which fits perfectly in the most energetic moment of the dance floor!

The second track of the EP, 'Procyon', has the same name as the brightest star in the Canis Minoris constellation, being, in fact, a binary star system formed by the spectral white Procyon A and its tenuous white dwarf companion Procyon B, orbiting each other.  Here Binaryh intersperses two melodic lines in an analogous way the stars cosmic dance, an epic and intergalactic feeling emphasized by orchestral strings, a characteristic very present in their productions. The break's return is euphoric and relieving, with timbres so hot that they can warm even the coldest of hearts. It is impossible not to fall in love with this couple!

In this release, we still have two remixes from label artists. Vicius was challenged to reinterpret the title track, ‘Icarus’, and presented us with a much more mysterious and esoteric version, succeeding in strongly printing his personality without losing the clear memory of the original story. Chappier once again surprised us with a hat-taking remix, his version of 'Procyon' presents the original story in a unique aesthetic, with influences from new wave, indie dance,  synthetic synths characteristic of the 80's video games, being conducted by well-marked grooves and unpredictable moments. This is something new, impactful and borderless!

Here's two old friends to warm us up for this anniversary – two gentlemen who have been blowing up dancefloors on a weekendly basis since the last century already: Dole & Kom. On catalogue number 099 the two of them showcase their remarkable skill to merge the past, the present and the future into moments of uttermost bliss. How does that work? There's the old magic of their warm, bouncy basses and the soft tickle of their hi hats, a magic that was already conjured up at ancient tribal dances. How masterfully this is done becomes clear when you realize that you can neither resist the catchiness of these three tracks nor explain it. Finally it all sounds very fresh and young thanks to it's modern melodies and samples. The third Realm Of Consciousness compilation on Tale Of Us’ Afterlife Recordings is the label’s most complete statement so far.

The four-vinyl opus opens with Tale Of Us’ now anthemic ‘Nova’, a high-impact and well-loved staple of their sets this year. Agents Of Time continue with the percussive rattle of ‘Paradigm’, before the first released collaboration between luminaries Recondite and Henrik Schwarz shines with understated melody.

Amongst Mind Against’s eerie masterpiece ‘Portal’ and impressive first appearances on Afterlife from Scuba (as SCB) and Steve Rachmad (as Sterac) are ethereal contributions from Fideles, Ovend and Øostil. UK techno veteran Edit Select channels the darker, hypnotic spirit of Afterlife with ‘Phase In’, setting up the sprawling, 14-minute epic from Luigi Tozzi and Antonio Ruscito.

To begin the compilation’s fourth disc, Konstantin Sibold & Kosme’s ‘Cyclone’ lifts the tone, leading into a more introspective sound from Hunter/Game on ‘Changing Weather’. Deep and dubby, immersive and dance-inducing - these coordinates can always be found in Alek S productions and this release makes no exception. 'Far Outside' introduces the deep atmospherics, with its metallic elements and slow burning melody, while 'Sweatbox' creates an entrancing mood with its timbered percussion and pulsating lead. 'Ostkreuz' stands for the dubby, restrained piece, with tempered percussion and bassline that give a womb-like feeling. Sascha Rydell’s rework of 'Sweatbox' rounds up the release in a dynamic manner, with a full-force techno heavy hitter.

Located at Tübingen in the south of Germany, Frederik Neu known as Uniqūm is an upcoming talented producer and DJ. On several local gigs for example at the Ract! Festival Aftershow 2019, the legendary Lichterberg event series, recently often at the Ribingurūmu, a lovely bar in the center of the city, and of course on many underground parties, Uniqūm has shown many times that he is able to leave an impact on the dancefloor. While Corona is hitting the whole scene, Uniqūm focused even more on producing new tracks. Bird In a Cage, a collaboration with Paule, a good friend, is just one of many projects which will be released at the end of 2020.

microcastle's third offering of 2020 welcomes Ivory back to the label for a new EP. Based in Milan, Italian artist Daniel Tagliaferri aka Ivory brings a surreal beauty to his innovative brand of electronic composition. As a perpetual favourite of Adriatique, Ame, Dixon, Lehar, Tale Of Us, Toto Chiavetta and Trikk, Ivory made his microcastle debut in July of last year with 'No Scale Can Resize You'. Rising to #1 in Beatport Indie Dance and Melodic House & Techno, the release received praise from both his contemporaries and fans alike. Carrying momentum forward, 2020 has yielded significant creative successes for Daniel. The release of 'Dreamers' via Innervisions and 'Hold Your Breath' via Multinotes have proven to be two of the year's most well received tracks. Now fresh off a remix for L.K.F Project via AZZUR, Ivory makes a welcome return to microcastle with 'Light Through Water'.

As a much-requested track from Ivory's sets, it is the arcane wonder 'Time Lapse' which gets the EP underway. Rhythmically buoyant, it's rippling low end, kaleidoscopic synths and fiery percussion set the release on a course for aural enlightenment. Although best known for his warmer, musical prowess; it is the wintry quality of 'Quartz' which follows, placing Ivory in the unique spot of also being able to craft starker, more rhythmic compositions. A highlight in the sets of Trikk, it's peculiar blend of titanium kicks, icy refrains and hypnagogic synthscapes set the stage for the robust muscularity of 'Steam Machine'. A recent favourite of Toto Chiavetta, this austere, machine-funk delight appears to be set for dance floor destruction.

Moving forward yet stripping things back are the hypno grooves of 'Minderals'. Another creation championed by Trikk; it's slow burning drawl, percussive splashes and pyrotechnic synth design are perfect for the more astute connoisseur.
