Exclusive Braunbeck 'Schlaflos (Daniel Bortz Remix)'

Do you like it deep? Berlin based label Sol Eterno and its co-founder Fabian Braunbeck follow a new musical approach with their latest three tracker 'Schlaflos'. The track title, the German word for sleepless, as well as the Daniel Bortz Remix of 'Schaflos' and 'Café Jasmin' extend the previous label-sound as they all focus on more defined and classical soundscapes that can be ascribed to the Deep House genre. Regardless 'Schaflos' certainly is not a Deep House EP in a classical sense but rather a melodical firework depicting a darker maybe even a more thoughful Fabian Braunbeck. With Daniel Bortz taking on remix duties for the EP's title track, 'Schlaflos' gets a completely make-over as the Augsburger producer emphasizes the original's deep shades and adds a dubby twist to it while mystically croaking sounds step from the back- to the foreground and evoke a feeling of restlessness throughout the track. 'Schlaflos' represents both Sol Eterno's and Braunbeck's most expressive as well as darkly and beautifully twisted vision of electronic music so far.

Braunbeck's EP 'Schlaflos' will be released January 18th, 2019 on Sol Eterno.

After two strong releases from upcoming talents, Innellea and BOg, including the hugely successful remix from Mathias Schober, the third offering on TAU comes from label heads, Adana Twins. ‘Risen’ sees the Adana Twins signature sound delivered in the form of a 3-Track EP, aimed firmly at the dancefloor with thunderous rolling drum beats and stabbing synth tones.

The release follows the Adana Twins’ delivery of the twenty-fifth edition of the infamous Watergate mix series, packed full of ex- clusive, unreleased tracks as well as three of their own originals. Included in the compilation, their mind-blowing remix of Patrice Bäumel’s decade-old track ‘Roar’ has been received with huge support, currently sitting in Top 10 overall on Beatport.

Simplistic in nature, the Adana Twins have stripped back their sound to provide an EP which at times touches on influences from Trance. Opening track ‘Pavan’ displays these features best, as the synth tones build into a firm and solid kick drum.

‘Maestro’ delivers a more robust sound, with heavy bass line primed for the peak time hours. ‘Ebrietas’ showcases Adana Twins finer abilities to mix between the lines of Trance and Techno, incorporating the industrial nature of the duo’s previous productions.

The EP has been the Adana Twins secret weapon within their record bag for many months, delivering countless spine-tingling moments on the dancefloor. ‘Risen’ EP demonstrates that the forward-thinking duo are in tune with the times, whilst also push- ing forward their own unique sound.

Inspiration can come through many different avenues. From sounds heard in passing conversations, to the hustle and bustle of a city center. Or perhaps a drive among nature that seems particularly tranquile. 

Our focus today lands squarely on the last as we’re delighted to premiere ‘Sleepy Tree’, from Inter Gritty and the Controlled Violence collective. The track starts slow and airy, a favorite vibe of ours here at Fiction Lab. The spacy pads soon give way to a hauntingly melodic bass line that continues throughout, providing a few highs and lows. Further along, a simple lead is introduced shifts attention and provides a nice finish over the top of the track. To quote Controlled violence themselves, “tracks like Sleepy Tree integrate twinkling, hollow, and delicate elements. Basslines bound up mountain ranges, synth pulses reverberate through the treetops, and groovy percussion captures the excitement and energy of the local scenery.”
 
The vinyl and associated digital releases will be out soon, coming on the 14th of June, as Sleepy Tree will be joined by three other tracks to round out an analog heavy EP titled, Laponia Space Project.

Fresh from announcing the full digitalisation of his second label, Meta, Ben Rau returns to his Inkal imprint with OutThere,  aslicktwo-trackerthatshowcasestheGermantalentathisbest.
“I'm very excited to return to my home Inkal with an EP of two long awaited tracks that have been thoroughly road tested.”  Ben Rau .
The EP begins with title track  Out There , a swelling house cut that merges rolling percussion with funky disco licks, before a heavily delayed vocal calls out to the dancefloor in the breakdown. Driving congas and shuffling hi-hats create a funky peak time track that shows off Ben's big room sensitivities. On the B-side comes  What is Love , a long-awaited and enigmatic house cut that rounds off the release in style. Deep pads swell and ebb, while Ben's signature minimal percussion bleeps and glitches with funk and swing.
A name synonymous with the underground facets of electronic music,  Ben Rau ’s career in such a sphere has developed year on year since his earliest inception into Berlin’s raving circuit. After developing an internal love for the dancefloor, such a passion naturally progressed into a full-time profession where, in 2016, Ben launched his first label, Inkal, as a home for his self-made releases. This was followed by the formation of Meta in 2018, to showcase music from other produces in the scene. Alongside being head of two labels, Ben’s passion for producing has seen his tracks land on the likes of Fuse and Tamango Records, before his incredible remix of Roy Ayers’ legendary  Holiday  was released on BBE in September 2018.

Following Colyn’s standout track on the Realm Of Consciousness Pt.IV compilation, we see the full breadth of his scope as a producer on his first EP for the label.

The soaring synth lines and vocal of title track ‘Resolve’ are a bold statement, worthy of the most epic moments in a DJ set. ‘Eriador’ is comparatively restrained, with gently rolling drums and unusual flourishes. ‘Exchange’ and ‘Gravity’ distil euphoric elements into deeply moving techno cuts to fit the Afterlife mould.
