Following in the footsteps of Giorgio Lopez we have another newcomer on Horisontal Mambo.
Behind this balearic EP (or Donauleric perhaps?)we have Attila and Szilard aka Pleasure Voyage from Budapest. Teaming up as a dj and production team in 2018 they found a mutual love of disco and balearic sounds. In their own words "Pleasure Voyage is a cruise through the universe of feel-good music".
After a little touch up and additional mixing by Prins Thomas at Asker's B15 lab we're content on classifying this as a modern balearic classic.

Don’t let your passions die, don’t bend the knee to societal norms, don’t bow to the pressure of your environment. Three’s a charm, as they say. After „Waste The Time“ and „Socialo Blanco“ „Money“ completes Daniel Meuzard’s Feater triptych. Again joined by the likes of Eric Owusu and Sam Irl and their musical as well as technical skills, as well as by the lovely voice of Vilja Larjosto, the ageless beauty and intellectual brilliance of „Money“ is impossible to resist. It could have been imagined, written and recorded almost anytime in the last 50 years. Inspired or - better put - troubled by the rise and transformation of capitalist systems, fatalism, extravism, climate change and - surprise - the power, corruption and lies revolving around money, its topic is anything, but bubblegum. The music though, is ranging from powerful songs to clever synth experiments. Incredibly executed with a perfectly wonderful result. And even if Daniel writes that there is „no need to worry, I want you to panic“, we want you to listen to this album, while you do so! Hats off to Feater. „

La Bestiole Records et La Bagnolette s’unissent pour créer le nouveau label Stima et rendre à nouveau disponible l’une des curiosités les plus rares de la scène gwoka fusion parisienne, avec la permission de Jimmy Blanche lui-même.
Le gwoka est un genre traditionnel et engagé de Guadeloupe, habituellement joués avec des percussions ; toutefois, Jimmy l’a mélangé avec brio à d’autres influences pour créer son propre son, dansant, spirituel, indéniablement 80’s mais également intemporel.
La face A de STIMA001 inclut 4 titres de l’album original de 1987, avec la bombe pour dancefloor qu’est “Misik A Moun A Kaz”, le tube gwoka “Tambou La & Ti Bois La“, et deux chansons plus calmes et spirituelles, le poétique “La Nou Te Ye“ et le morceau gwoka jazzy“Dou Van Jou“.
La face B contient le remix housy de “Misik” par Baerlz et la chanson jusqu’alors inédite “Kimbe”, que Jimmy a retrouvé dans ses bandes enregistrées dans les années 1980. La restauration audio et le mastering ont été effectués par Sam - The Wall Studio, et les laques gravées par le légendaire André Pierrat.

PBR Streetgang return to their home imprint KURTZ to deliver their latest EP ‘Sendeturm’, accompanied by a remix from Paranoid London’s Johnny Aux. 

Long-standing members of the house and disco landscape with releases via the likes of Skint, Crosstown Rebels and Futureboogie amongst many, Bonar Bradberry and Tom Thorpe, aka PBR Streetgang, continue to evolve and impress as one of the most consistent and diverse duos on the scene. Holding down residencies at the likes of Pikes in Ibiza, whilst making stand-out appearances at the likes of Glastonbury, Printworks and Love International – a festival which holds a special place within this latest EP – the duo launched their vinyl-focused KURTZ imprint in 2019 in impressive style, gaining support from the likes of DJ Harvey, Bicep, Soul Clap, and the late great Andrew Weatherall. Following a brief hiatus, the duo now return to home turf with possibly the strongest release on the label to date as they unveil their ‘Senderturm’ EP, welcoming Paranoid London member and electro-favourite Johnny Aux on remix duties. 

Opening cut ‘Zoot Module’ welcomes a moody, low-slung slab of electro with haunting riffs and eerie synth lines which hold your sonic gaze front and centre, whilst title production ‘Sendeturm’, named after the lookout tower above the Love International site, takes listeners on a dreamy beat-less ride through melancholic tones and showcases an ode to a summer lost in place of beauty. 

On the flip, Johnny Aux’s interpretation of ‘Zoot Module’ welcomes his signature rough and raw dirtbox sound which buries its way under your skin to reveal a pacey, true body mover, before closing proceedings via the blissful and rich ‘Thru The Shutters’ – a production imagined as the final track in the early hours of a Sunday morning dancefloor and a hypnotic closer that shapes up proceedings in emphatic fashion.
