Having spent the past two years working on shorter projects including the EPs Answers at Dawn (Was Ist Das) and Sunspot Loops (Courier Sounds), Fresh Yorkshire Aires graphic scores project and a commission with aerial artists for Bristol's Feel It Festival, Katie English aka Isnaj Dui returns with full-length album Poiesis on Rural Colours.  Already being described by some from the electronica underground as lulling the listener into a subdued state only to be taken by the feeling that you’re about to be hit round the back of the head with a blunt object, Poiesis has lost none of Isnaj Dui’s unnerving calm but has taken on a more expressionistic edge as she (consciously or otherwise) gets her head around the general state of things and tries putting the world to rights. 

The CD comes packaged in a hand-printed sleeve.

Postcard 38 comes from Mind over MIDI aka Helge Tommervag. Based in deepest and darkest Norway, Helge has been working with electronic music since the beginning of the 80's and over the years has graced many labels including Beatservice, Silent Season, Beserk Fabric and diametric. On his postcard EP for us at hibernate, Helge pays tribute to his natural surroundings where strong, chilly winds blow and die down to allow gorgeous atmospheric material to shine through.

Mind over MIDI /  Tussmørke (Snippets)

Michiru Aoyama is a Japanese ambient producer from Kyoto who also enjoys making music in the quiet seaside city of Kamakura, just south of Tokyo. Michiru studied electronic music production in Berlin after his work was hand-chosen by Ryuichi Sakamoto for a radio audition in 2006. Since then, Michiru has released projects on prominent ambient labels such as Organic Industries, taâlem, and Somehow Recordings.

Michiru Aoyama’s Brilliant Days LP comprises two tracks of untitled songs that weave in and out of each other. Michiru’s signature guitar harmonics are treated with serene electronic filters met with youthful under-layers of electronic experimentations and glitchy backdrops.

Window In is Michael Vallera’s third full length offering on the Denovali label, following  All Perfect Days (2018) and Vivid Flu (2017).  

The four tracks that compose Window In are an exercise in density, movement, and space. Raw studio recordings of electric guitar were taken as the foundation, then heavily altered and manipulated through sampling, erasing the trace back to origin of the sound. The result is a series of vignettes that are unattached to a particular source but instead exist in an emotive and internal state.
