Welcome to Fluxedo Junction, I’m Scott Kuchler. Each episode we bring you the best music of all genres from throughout the world, and this week we welcome back our old friend, musician and composer D.D. Danahy. His forthcoming release started out as an acoustic EP, and then an electronic one, but is shaping up to be a combination of both titled Half-Baked, and here’s a preview of it on Fluxedo Junction.

Just for fun. 

I shared a rehearsal space in the basement of Westbeth Artist Housing (please see the photo) in the late 70’s. This music has to do with my dream-memory of the place.

The basement was labyrinthine. Until a few years ago, I still had recurring dreams of that environment. It was constructed of grey painted cinder block or some such stony material. There were many bands in many rooms down there, and as you walked the halls you’d hear all the musics leaking out from under steel doors in cacophony. Often you’d hear the band in the next cell right through your own stone wall as you were playing. That made it hard to record in there. We did it anyway. 

The sonic qualities of this recording remind me of those hallways as do some of the somewhat antiquated guitar moves. And by the way, I love antiquated guitar moves!

This is a remix of a Kathy Freeman original, she kindly gave me the vocals and and guitar to play with :-) I asked Pete https://soundcloud.com/midipunk to add some drums and shakers and Jon https://soundcloud.com/jon-lock-5 to add some bass, he also gave me the Vibes which became part of the overall tone of the mix. (he gave me the vibes... hahahaha, I should have said no tongues :-) )
