Established by Colin Matthews in 1989, NMC Recordings is a record label with charitable status devoted to the promotion of contemporary classical music from Britain and Ireland. Our award-winning catalogue of almost 300 releases feature major international ensembles and artists, and encompasses established composers as well as nurturing new voices. 

With a non-deletion policy ensuring all releases are permanently available worldwide, NMC is rapidly becoming a national archive for new music, and in 2015 NMC became the first organisation to receive the Royal Philharmonic Society’s Leslie Boosey Award for “its outstanding contribution to the furthering of contemporary music in Britain”.

Birmingham Record Company is a record label that presents eclectic and exciting new releases by artists who challenge, innovate and transform ideas of music today. The label celebrates off-beat work that sits between genres. As well as 12-minute micro-operas and Country-and-Western piano quintets, listeners are just as likely to find music structured around famous football matches, recordings of 1920s mechanical dancehall organs, and story-telling in yoga position.
