We are excited to present to you the 19th episode of the VDS Podcast series. Dragoș is a Romanian DJ and Radio Host based in London, hosting a monthly show on Netil Radio called JAS.

He is passionate about exploring the emotional bond between records from a wide array of genres and eras.

His mixes straddle the lines between experimental sound and the primordial need for rhythm.

His contribution to the VDS Podcast series was recorded on Christmas Day 2021, at home, with covid, and with no direction. “Just sitting in front of my record shelves, pulling one after another, thinking about just what Rintaro and VDS would want to listen to if they were in my living room with me. Come feel with me!”

Five years ago, a Sao Paolo-bred friend introduced him to the bewitching concoction of syncopated rhythms, sensual melodies, and saudade-infused singing that is Brazilian Music. It is uncertain whether it was the warm and lush sounds of the music that seemed to magically make Dutch winters more bearable. Perhaps it was the sweet curvatures and melodic language, or the central role the guitar takes place in compositions. Regardless of what it was, he is grateful to have discovered this carelessly over looked corner of the music world!

The mix consists of a carefully curated collection of new, and old, Brazilian gems. It is a mix intended to cradle your summer days and cuddle up to in times of cold. Play it in the shower, play it when you are feeling sad, play it to soothe your hangover, play it whenever you feel like doing so!
