Nine years after the release of 'Stanza III', American musician Benoît Pioulard returns with 'Stanza IV' - the fourth and most expansive instalment in his long-evolving Stanza series. Pressed on splattered yellow pollen vinyl, it comprises four long-form ambient pieces that are deeply layered, hauntingly textured, and rich with emotion...Our pick from the album is the closing track, “Steeples Writhe.” Just over ten minutes in length, it unfurls with the ceremonial grace of a farewell. Built from degraded tape loops, decayed vocal fragments, and soft ambient hums, it avoids resolution—offering instead stillness, presence, and a sense of gentle release. It is, quite simply, a moment of peace.

Signals Aligned is Lord Of The Isles’s fifth album and his second contribution to his own Dusk Delay imprint.

Signals Aligned stands as a sonic testament to the intersection of science, spirituality, and the vast unknown. Inspired by pioneering theories on the nature of anomalous phenomena, viewing them not as extraterrestrial but as a complex, multidimensional enigma.

There’s a consistent theme of “discovery through distortion.” Truth is often obscured by layers of misinformation, disinformation, and misperception. The music plays with the concept of clarity and distortion, revealing hidden textures beneath shifting layers of sound.

The sound palette is vast and ethereal, incorporating elements of noise, shimmering synths, and organic textures. There’s a sense of both wonder and unease that mirrors theories on the strange and unexplainable.

First released on CD in 2002 on the original Mego label, the album remains a landmark in extreme electronic sound and is an essential and ferocious document of Drumm at his most inventive.

The history of Drumm’s Sheer Hellish Miasma is one of resilience to the twists of underground trends that have come and gone since its initial release. Using guitar, tape manipulation, microphones, pedals, analog synthesizers, and subtle computer processing, Sheer Hellish Miasma is an overwhelming experience: a sonic onslaught of storming feedback, fractured textures and  an unrelenting energy. At once brutal and meticulously composed, the album offers a singular vision at the outermost edges of sound art.

For seasoned noise veterans, Sheer Hellish Miasma offers a bracing soundscape filled with exquisitely abrasive textures and more than enough hidden detail to warrant repeated listening – a distinct voice in the increasingly same-sounding world of abstract electronic noise. For everyone else, Drumm’s journey through the noisy underworld is likely to inspire fear or, in an optimistic case, fearful admiration.

イギリス人1人宅録オーケストラDirectorsoundが前作より3年ぶりとなる、通算7枚目のアルバムをリリース！
はじめての子供の誕生に対する喜びと愛を綴った、穏やかでスウィートな箱庭アコースティック・シンフォニーによる、音のラブレター。

イギリス・ドーセット出身ロンドン在住のマルチ奏者ニック・パーマーによる音楽プロジェクト、ダイレクターサウンド。前作から3年ぶりとなる本作は、2016年8月に誕生したニックの初めての子供のために制作されたアルバムです。前作『Into the Night Blue』ではスウェーデンの音の魔術師 ”Musette”ことヨエル・ダネルらを迎えて録音しましたが、本作は再び1人オーケストラのスタイルで制作されました。
 
2016年の8月、ロンドンの病院で子供が無事に誕生した後、36時間寝てない状態だったニックは少し休憩しようと朝の5時頃に公園を散歩していました。その朝日が昇る中、このアルバムの最初のモチーフを思い浮かび、その後2年の月日をかけて子供のために作曲と録音を続けアルバムを完成させました。録音の作業は子供を起こさない様に夜遅い時間に行っていたそうです。
 
ギター、ピアノ、アコーディオン、バンジョー、ウクレレ、ツィター、オートハープ、ブズーキ、パーカッションなど、たくさんの生楽器を1人で演奏し（＊Ian Halfordがドラムで数曲参加。）、古いジャズや映画音楽、エキゾチカ、ハワイアン、フォークなどの要素が１曲の中に万華鏡のように混在するダイレクターサウンド特有の箱庭アコースティック・オーケストラ的サウンドとロマンチシズムは健在ながらも、今までよりもレイドバックした、穏やかでゆったりと流れる曲調の楽曲で構成されています。はじめての子供の誕生という複雑さも含む喜びの記録であり、もっとも特別な時間へ宛てたラブレターのような作品です。
