Here's my entry into the OTR (Off the Rails) DJ Competition.

Participating in this DJ competition is an extraordinary opportunity to share my passion for music and connect with an audience that shares my deep love for trance. As a DJ, I am driven by the desire to create unforgettable moments on the dance floor, and this platform provides a chance to showcase the dedication, energy, and artistry I bring to my sets. Performing alongside talented peers and representing the vibrant trance community is both an honour and a source of inspiration. Regardless of the outcome, I view this as a valuable stepping stone in my journey as an artist and an opportunity to strengthen my presence in the scene.
Last year, I had the privilege of winning the Wax Format DJ Competition, which was an incredible milestone. It allowed me to share the stage with some of my heroes which is a dream come true. OTR holds a special place in my heart, and winning this competition would truly be the icing on the cake.
OTR has long been a cornerstone of the trance community, not only showcasing established artists but also providing a platform for emerging talent to shine. Many who have graced their stage have gone on to make significant waves in the scene. As a true fan of trance, playing for OTR would be an incredible honour and a career highlight.

DJ and producer part of the Arctic Barbers. Played on vinyl for almost 20 years.. Main love is trance but enjoy many genres of electronic music.

A female, UK-based House & Trance DJ with a deep passion for Classic trance, a genre that has been a part of her life for over 25 years. Regularly attending iconic events like Goodgreef, Gatecrasher, Godskitchen, and immersing herself in the vibrant Ibiza Trance scene at Cream and Judgement Sundays in the mid-2000s, she has cultivated a rich connection to the dance music world.

After years of being a devoted fan and dancefloor lover, 2024 marked the year she finally took the plunge to share her love of trance. With a huge passion and a deep knowledge of trance history, she quickly established herself in the DJ scene, winning various competitions that led to exciting opportunities with respected brands such as Evolve Rising Stars, Small Trees & Limitless and Temple of Trance, offering her a platform to share her passion with the world. Since then Chantel has secured bookings at some of the best respected UK club scene events. 

Her mixes, a blend of old-school trance classics and fresh, progressive vibes, have been met with incredible response since she hit the scene. She has a particular affinity for rediscovering lost music gems and is on a mission to share her passion for this, taking listeners on a journey through its evolution while ensuring the classics never fade away.

This journey led me to the iconic Bed nightclub for Blessed and the unforgettable S1 2DJ, known as The Republic for Gatecrasher, where my affinity for Trance blossomed, resonating across the UK and beyond.

Exploring further, I delved into the realms of hard house and hardcore scenes, immersing myself in events like Bonkers, HTID, Sundissential, and Insomniacz, relishing the exhilarating chaos of the Tidy Weekenders. My musical palette also embraces House, hardcore, and DnB, catering to my diverse moods.

Hiddenagenda are the Sheffield based trance duo behind some of the most uplifting, euphoric, and powerful trance & progressive sets you will have heard in recent years!

They met in early 2005 and shortly after Hiddenagenda were born. Although relatively young, they both possessed a wealth of knowledge and talent, which only strengthened as the pair joined forces. Their individual styles benefit hugely from each other and their combined knowledge of tune selection, their immaculate mixing ability and their extensive experience of the clubbing scene makes them one of the strongest duos about.

Both keen clubbers from an early age, and part of Crashers loyal following, they have seen and learnt exactly how to get the most out of a crowd. Frequenting the countries dance floors over the years has armed them with experience and knowledge that allows them to create their own energetic and electric atmosphere every time.

They found musical inspiration originally from the likes of Armin van Buuren, Paul van Dyk, Matt Hardwick, Markus Schulz and Jon O’Bir to name a few, and over time have used this to create their own cutting-edge sound that continues to destroy the dance floors around the country. Their style is driven by big basslines and uplifting melodies with tech-influences, ranging from progressive warm-ups to their now legendary big room peak time sets. With a genuine enthusiasm for the music driving their performances and keeping the energy on the dance floor at a constant high, they will take you on a musical journey that will leave you gagging for more. 

Having made their name at Gatecrasher's infamous Howard pre-parties back in 2005/06 and with multiple appearances for the Sheffield based trance night OTR (Off the Rails), this pair really exploded onto the scene becoming firm favourites with many clubbers and gaining a mass of followers around the North of England. On the back of this success OTR snapped up the duo as residents for their return to the scene in late 2009, a night they still run successfully to this day. 

The duo have had a string of high-profile gigs; the highlights being a competition win of a set at the prestigious Trance Awards hosted by Trackitdown at Ministry of Sound, numerous bookings for Nu-Passion, Passion’s UK Indoor Festival, Magna Phase II at the huge Magna arena, Gareth Emery’s very own Northern Lights Concert, 2 appearances on Goodgreef’s Ibiza Boat Party as well as Goodgreef UK bookings, multiple appearances at Leeds based Digital Society, the Garuda 3rd Anniversary and a number of bookings at Birmingham’s Godskitchen, most notably a main room debut at SixFiveTwelve.

After a brief hiatus the pair landed back with a bang in 2022 warming up the Trancecoda Paul van Dyk event in Sheffield, a gig which marked the start of an exciting new chapter in their career to date. 

Coming armed with some of the most up-front tunes, some forgotten classics, and the ability to create an atmosphere like few others, be ready for a night to remember!

Sheffield based trance night that has caused a stir through club land ever since its inception in February 2007.

After quickly becoming known for a truly world class DJ bill, first rate productions and a unique atmosphere, OTR has given the local club scene a much needed beat injection.

OTR’s new home is FEZ Club in Sheffield. Here you can expect to be kept dancing until the early hours with a signature laser cut dancefloor bathed in FEZ's ultra-crisp Martin Audio sound system and a raised intimate DJ booth that keeps you truly involved in the action, not to mention state of the art visuals, lighting and productions; OTR has well and truly become a staple to any clubbing schedule.

OTR has always prided itself on providing you with one of the most upfront music policies and DJ line-ups you could expect to hear. Having taken a short break in 2009, OTR returned in an emphatic fashion and have continued to welcome a host of the world’s most prolific artists to its decks including Aly & Fila, Menno De Jong, John O’Callaghan, Matt Hardwick, Orjan Nilsen, Rank1, Simon Patterson and Sean Tyas to name but a few.

Always thinking outside the box, OTR have brought some of the most unique trance and progressive events to have braced the country to Sheffield over the years. With exclusive live performances coming from Solarstone, Roger Shah via a 3 hour extended set and The Thrillseekers showcasing his musical genius through his Live XTreme production, OTR pride themselves on bringing the freshest nights to the scene. Off the Rails were also the brand which proudly brought you local trance legend, Matt Hardwick’s final farewell event upon him announcing his retirement from DJing in 2011. For all those who attended the event, it’s safe to say it was a night to remember and certainly a fitting end for the man who has done so much for trance in the steel city.

The annual Journey Through Trance event is yet another shining example of OTR reaching out to its wanting ravers, providing a classics event with a twist through the talents of the country’s finest up and coming DJs. This sell-out crowd year upon year provide the perfect atmosphere to the soundtrack that has shaped so many people’s lives, making it a definite date in any clubbers diary.

Such is the reputation that OTR has now enveloped throughout club land over the last few years, the Sheffield based brand have been invited to collaborate with a host of the most renowned names around. From Insomniacz at the mighty Magna to Digital Society at the O2 in Leeds, as well as hosting the main room at what is one of the country’s premier venues, Air in Birmingham, for the sell-out Godskitchen event, SixFiveTwelve which saw trance megastars Armin van Buuren and Paul van Dyk take to the main stage.

OTR’s vision has always been clear; to be at the forefront of any clubbing experience. Rest assured, this is something we aim to continue and with a wealth of projects on the horizon, be sure to embrace that signature OTR experience.
