griff is one of Australia’s leading purveyors of highly varied and unique bass music.  Since 2009, griff has created many LPs, EPs and remixes, released on renowned labels such as Omelette, Addictech, Enig'Matik Records, Slurp Music and Buxton Records.  

As an assistant engineer at Sing Sing Studios in Melbourne, Australia he worked on albums by The Cat Empire, The Jon Butler Trio, Blue King Brown, The Dirty Three and many more. 

Playing his original compositions and DJing all manner of styles and genres he has toured the world moving crowds at festivals such as Shambhala Music Festival in Canada, Boom in Portugal, Symbiosis and Burning Man in the US and Rainbow Serpent Festival in his home country of Australia. 

He enjoys laughing and is uncomfortable talking in the 3rd person.

Throughout his music, Eastward often opens up a portal to a psychedelic web of retro-future collage that gently blends the foreign with the familiar. As per his pseudonym, Eastward persuades his listeners to embark on a journey, and that journey seems to go where the sun rises; east.

When I first started sampling and writing on a MPC all that I wanted was to make something sick and write melody for it. I put out EP's "The Nails" in 2015 and "Every Bump" in 2016, the songs were strange and funky, it was cool!!

Now I have a Roland TR-909 drum machine paired to the MPC and I picked up the tempo a little to make a Dancefloor record "The One Thing That I Own" It's a 12" EP coming out on 10th May 2019. 

I run a recording studio in Melbourne "Swimming Pool" with my mates and wild producers: GL's Graeme Pogson and Harvey Sutherland, that's where I mixed the new jams. I'm also doing gutter remixes of song I love.
