Burn Slow(er) is a reprise of the song Slow Burn(er).  The two songs bookend my 'Beneath the Skin EP'.  The song consists of a solitary vocal, acoustic guitar, and French horn.  The latter of which is played by Filippo Tramontana.

I recorded the song in my cabin, during Lockdown #1 in 2020.  Apart from the French horn, all instruments were played by me.

Mixed Signals

'Us' is a song born out of the lessons learned through the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic and lockdown. It champions the notion that, despite the suffering, hopelessness and disenchantment with life caused by the pandemic, we can turn to the things that are most important in life including family and friendship; ultimately, we realise "when nothing's left then all that's left is us”.

S J Denney is a UK-based singer-songwriter. He started out as a choir boy and then learnt to play the clarinet. In his early teens, he fell in love with rock music, after stumbling upon vinyl copies of The Beatles’ ‘White Album’ and Neil Young’s ‘Harvest’. These two records are still amongst his favourites. Other notable influences include Led Zeppelin, Talk Talk, Paul Weller and Jeff Buckley.

‘The Trouble With Me EP’ is S J Denney’s latest release. Like all of Denney’s recent records, the EP was self-produced and features a vast array of instruments.

Denney has more music scheduled for release, which he cannot wait to share with the world.
