Thomas + James are a DJ & production duo from Glasgow’s West End. Growing up surrounded by electronic music, they began experimenting with production apps at just 10 years young and mixing on decks by 13. Clubbing in Glasgow has nurtured, shaped and matured their sound, with the backdrop of world renowned clubs like Sub Club, The Berkeley Suite and La Cheetah where they have flourished over a year long residency.

Following an introduction by a well known native, it was obvious the duo's sound was highly aligned with Verdant Recordings, fusing deep house, dub techno and minimal grooves. For  a teenage duo, their sound is refined, seasoned and well informed.

Insignia EP drifts between hazy dub techno textures and stripped-back deep minimal house with a 'wee hours' dance floor focus. Patiently arranged tracks swell with warm low-ends, atmospheric pads and precision tuned percussion. Ulf & Ralf revise the title track in their unique and unpredictable fashion for a gentler comedown.

The Hidden Oasis EP coming from the land of Oz, is the result of a series of collaborations between Uone and Western in Sydney.These two grooving deep tech house jams are inspired by primitive sounds, but maintain a modern feeling with layerings of instrumentation juxtaposed with sizzling synths. By recording real percussion and capturing raw takes of late night analogue jams, the duo capture a unique electronic sound while maintaining an organic vibe. 

Fellow Australian, and co-owner of Multi Culti Records, Dreems, delivers a psychedelic pitched down interpretation of "Tribal Paradise". The infectious bubbling baseline carries the listener on a wild ride thru the dusty bush, fueled by analogue distortion and percussive madness. Jonas Saalbach from Berlin, takes us further into the oasis delivering a beautiful uplifting remix of "Gold Sacks River". Swirling arpeggios and lush pads expand and build over the hand clap beat climaxing into a deep acid groove. The artwork by Helia Jamali draws us a visual map of the music, guiding us to the elusive "Hidden Oasis", a desert destination that can only be discovered after journeying down the "Gold Sacks River" and arriving at the secret "Tribal Paradise."

Always so much music inspiration when transitioning through a testing time. I bursted out the other side though as always with gratitude & a new found light.
Here's a slightly deeper set I recorded on my last night in Berlin.

It was in the pitch-dark aftermath of that last night,
that I finally realised,
there was no infinite truth for me to gain from our past.

neither did our journey feed my inner light anymore,
nor was it offering the casual comfort of a campfire,
where we could at least have sat in silence like strangers,
searching in our souls and the shiny sparks.

but our solitary sorrow did not provide any guidance on this way,
with tear-shimmering glances just a glimmer, not a lantern in this gloom.

the spectrum of emotions had shrunk to the stimulus of a lightning- 
rather physical reflex than psychological reaction.

and whenever I would endeavour to retrace my rays, 
to relume the afterglow of that shiny jade once planted in my soul,
I found that life, and light, and love had vanished long ago,
and left nothing inside my core but jaded rubble on the shore.
