'The Little Death'

TRAMONTANE was born to parents of the Windrush generation. He was raised in North London, and he enjoyed a broad spectrum of music, often colloquial "underground" music. His earliest memories of music were singing along to his parents' "Studio 52" and "Trojan" records. Whilst attending high school on America's East Coast, he witnessed the advent of hip-hop/rap music. On arrival back to England, he soon became heavily involved in the upcoming illegal warehouse party and the subsequent "rave" scene. As a popular dance artist on the "rave" circuit, he graduated to pirate radio and management within the rave phenomenon. At this time, he kept a dirty secret from his fellow ravers. He was also a great lover of indie music. Little known to his friends, he had a passion for artists such as the Stone Roses, the Charlatans, Manic Street Preachers, Kula Shaker, and many others within this genre. The storytelling adopted by indie music spoke to him. In his work as a mental health peer support worker (lived experience practitioner), he uses his music to engage clients. Many of his songs were written whilst detained under section. Through his engagement with KeyChanges, he has developed his lifelong ambition to record his story in song.
As a singer-songwriter, when asked whilst out busking  with his guitar, "What kinda music are you playing?" he can only shrug his shoulders and simply reply "dun know just me own"
