20 years before the emergence of STS9, NASA sent Voyager 1 and Voyager 2 on a mission to the farthest reaches of the solar system and beyond. Each of these probes was equipped with identical Golden Records, special messages attached to what Carl Sagan called “a bottle launched into the cosmic ocean.” They contained numerous images and sounds from throughout the world, pieces of music from various cultures, a map identifying the location of our planet, and other information for whomever, or whatever, might find them.

While the Golden Records included greetings in 59 languages, they made no mention of nations and borders, wars and rivalries, or anything else that divides us. What they did mention was life, love, peace, birth--the things that bind us to one another and to the planet we call home. 

The Universe Inside is a reflection of this message. It is a story about human identity and the magical truth of who we are, where we’re going, and our place in the Universe. It says we are one, made of stardust and the forces of nature that evolved over billions of years. Connected by the sun, moon and stars, we are the living, breathing conscience of the Universe.

Spaceship Earth aka Ashton Robertson, infuses psychedelic electronic bass music with live electric guitar and inspirational messages. Inspired by nature, the cosmos and beyond.

Ashton uses a blend of genres from across the globe including world music instrumentation, rock, reggae, drum n’ bass, psytrance and of course American modern bass music.

A balance between Earth & Extraterrestrial dimensions, masculine & feminine, and chill & intense.

Spaceship Earth has shared stages and bills with heavy hitters such as Tipper, Infected Mushroom,  Shpongle, Emancipator, Desert Dwellers, Kalya Scintilla, EOTO, Papadosio, Ott., and many more.

The SÆTYR project is a dedicated attempt to combine all of your favorites things about music spanning multiple genres to create one fluid and universally agreeable dialect of sound. Many of my favorite tracks are still in production but one cool feature about the music is that each track offers more than your average 3:00 min song. I purposely embark to reach as deep as possible within each idea I    explore. This influence comes from my own fandom of five piece "jam bands" who are known for lengthy tunes, cinematic composition, and even bands like Tool. My tracks can range anywhere from 6-10 min long giving the listener an opportunity to dive deep with me on a sonic journey unique to every song. I like to blend metal style drums with electronic synth layers and also incorporate memorable melodies which often times I'll play on guitar. Thats another key factor to this project, live guitar for each performance adding to the experience. My hope is that listeners can tap in and appreciate the vision here, even in these early stages.
